What we dont do is overjack the perimeter of the house because we are worried about our work sinking. Many of our competitors will overjack a house to avoid any and all warranty callbacks. Some just overlift because of lack of experience, but some of the larger companys create most of our work. Once they overlift a concrete slab on the perimeter its only a matter of time before the home owner calls that same company back and the they submit an estimate between 10 and 25K for underslab tunneling. Many of our larger competitors hire an engineer to come out and tell the guys where to stopjacking a house. Anyone can lift a house, but its knowing where to stop lifting that is the key to not chasing the problem around. The company gets a form to fill out from the local news paper and then they judge themselves and they put a ribbon in their ad saying they are the best of the best for that year.
