"I have used Ryan's restoration twice now when we have had water mishaps. They have been responsive in bringing out the huge fans to dry the carpet underneath and returned to make sure there was no moisture left before taking the fans away. They have also cleaned the carpet in a couple of rooms and did very good work.

"The staff at Great Floors helped us find excellent carpet and padding based on our needs and criteria. We were allowed to borrow large carpet samples to take home. They arranged for the carpet measure to be done two days after we first came into their showroom. This gentleman was very courteous and professional, and he gave some helpful advice as he took the room measurements. The cost estimate came 4 days later. We decided to go with Great Floors and two weeks later, we had the carpet installed. The installation was done over 1-and frac12; days, with the two men working about 12 hours total. Both days, they arrived on time, when expected, and went straight to work.
They took care of moving our larger and heavier furniture around to get the install done. There was one and quot;casualtyand quot; in the furniture movement - a shelf facade on one bookcase was broken off - and the worker apologized sincerely and said we should withhold some money from our final payment to make up for the accident, but we decided the damage was very minimal and we still paid what we owed to close out the bill. We were a little worried about how they would move sensitive pieces of furniture, specifically our 50-year-old piano and our Sleep Number bed, but all of our furniture was handled with care. We were also concerned about our wood floors getting scratched up as the installers moved around the 1st floor, but again, our worries were unnecessary.
The installers did a nice job of cleaning up after themselves, including running a vacuum over all of the carpet (and there was A LOT of carpet) to make sure any loose staples, dust, and other debris were picked up. Although we did find a few more staples after they left, there weren't enough to warrant to complaint. Since they stored our rolls of carpet and padding in our garage for the duration of the install, they also did a very nice job of sweeping up any mess left in there. They took care of removing all of our old carpet and padding, and disposing of it, as this was included in our cost of service.
We did have the expectation of someone from Great Floors calling us to follow up on our project, ask if we were satisfied with the carpet and installation, and get general feedback about our experience with them. We were surprised that no one did. We would have given them positive feedback.
Overall, our experience was a very good one, 1) because our project was straightforward with no unforeseen issues, and 2) the installers worked professionally and efficiently.

FAQs for carpet repair, refasten, or stretch projects in Belfair, WA

Removing a rug costs around $0.40 to $0.50 per square foot. This includes the fee for a contractor to roll up the rug and haul it away in a vehicle for disposal or recycling. If they need to move furniture, they might charge an additional $0.25 to $0.30 per square foot of furniture.

If your carpet has minor damage—like a single area that requires stretching, patching, or cleaning—it might be less expensive to pay for carpet repair than remove and replace it. Repairing carpet costs around $210 per project.

The cost of carpet cleaning is about $190 for a three-bedroom home, so it’s a good idea to have your carpet cleaned at least once a year. But most carpeting only lasts 10 years. If your carpet is nearing the end of its life span, it might be more cost-effective to remove and replace your carpet than to clean and repair it. The average cost to install a new carpet is about $1,800.

All HomeAdvisor listings are vetted, reviewed, and rated by homeowners, so you can be sure to find a local pro qualified for your project. Commercial carpet removal usually costs on the lower end of the carpet removal price range, around $1.10 per square foot or even less. Carpet installation contractors often offer discounted rates for larger projects, like commercial carpet removal and installation. Similarly, you might be able to negotiate a lower residential carpet removal cost if the carpet is pulled up throughout your entire home.

Most cities accept old carpets as bulk trash, but you may need to schedule a special pickup and prepare the carpet properly. Remove any nails or glue residue, cut the carpet into manageable pieces, and roll and secure them. Alternatively, you can take your old carpet to a local recycling center for a small fee, where it can be processed and repurposed.

Yes, you can remove carpet yourself if you're ready for a labor-intensive task. DIY carpet removal requires heavy lifting and tools like utility knives, pliers, and pry bars. The process is generally straightforward but time-consuming for stapled-down carpet. If your carpet is glued down or you're worried about damaging the subfloor, hiring a professional is best to ensure the job is done safely and efficiently.
