"Absolute best. I had three bids. One was way over the top. The other bid was slightly lower than the one from Maplewood Plumbing, but they stopped responding to my questions after I asked them two times. I understand that if it was just a $200 job, then it would not be worth the time, but $2,500 was no chump change. Couldn't I ask just a couple more questions to make sure I knew what I was getting into? Maplewood plumbing was different, from start to finish. They even came out a second time to take a closer look to reassure me on what needed to be moved or removed first in order to start their work. I doubt many companies would want to do that. The plumbers working on the job were happy to answer questions as well. There was a small drip in the water supply line/shutoff valve area of the toilet after they were done with the job, They fixed it after a call. Some companies just leave these loose ends unfixed, but they didn't. The office staff was also responsive and professional. All in all, they were such a pleasure to work with. Will definitely hire them for future plumbing needs."

"I appreciated the quick service I got from Roto Rooter, a couple other listed plumbers couldn't get to me for a week or so. Chris came out the same day, replaced my defunct garbage disposal, and removed a leaky whole house filter. He was efficient and very professional. I was a bit taken aback by the price, but then again, haven't had any plumbing done in a long time, so figured it's probably standard! I would hire them again definitely. Sure did not want to wait a week with a non-functional sink."

"Embrich Plumbing was excellent in every phase of this project. beginning with the initial contact through the installation and follow-up.  It is a very comforting feeling to have such confidence in a contractor to perform exactly the way anyone would want.  Embrich Plumbing is clearly a top tier plumbing contractor.  Highly recommend that anyone needing a professional, knowledgeable and competent plumbing contact Embrich Plumbing,  PLEASE NOTE:  the $5,000 cost was consistent with other contractor's bids received for the same work.  Embrich Plumbing was selected based on Angie's List ratings and the communication and urgency displayed by Embrich Plumbing. Del, Jennifer Embrich and staff were just excellent to do business with"

"So I was really apprehensive about hiring a plumber. I didn't want to get taken to the bank for an outside water line (it was encased in concrete and about 2 1/2 feet down) but I needed this done and was unable to fix it myself. I called Beis Plumbing and the first person I interacted with was Jessica. She was wonderful. She was courteous, understanding, and knowledgeable. She did not mind spending time on the phone with me to answer my questions and was prompt to return my calls. So she set it up that someone would come out and give me a quote. The next day I believe, Charlie, showed up at my house. I know he spent every bit of 45 minutes there but the problem only took 10 minutes to look at. The rest of the time we discussed his business, life, growing up and then back to plumbing. I could not have been happier with Charlie. What great customer service skills. He took the time to get to know a little about us and made us feel more comfortable with him. Jessica gave me my quote the next day (Charlie wanted time to go over things in his head to assure he would be able to get it done for what I could afford). We set up to have the job completed on Friday but on Thursday they called and asked if they could start on it because another job was pushed back. They sent Tony out to do the job. Let me tell you he is indeed a wonderful, hard working, ethical, responsible, trustworthy individual. (I really could go on this way about everyone I have met or talked to from Beis Plumbing.) he worked very quickly and when he noticed something not setting up the way he would have liked, instead of burying it and moving on, he cut the line, ran back to home depot, and fixed it in a more sturdy manner. He cleaned up all of his mess and was very polite during our whole interaction. So if your looking for a company with high ethics, hard workers, great customer servcice and a all around good experience for a lousy situation, then Beis Plumbing is for you. Thank you everyone at Beis Plumbing for all your hard work. Misty Hill"

"Guarantee Plumbing was recommended to me by Kirkwood Plumbing as they do not do drain cleaning.  I called and a happy person answered and said he'd be there by late morning and he was.  <br /> He went right to work, cleared the drain and gave me valuable information on how to properly use the garbage disposal. <br />"

"<strong>Why We Choose Ed</strong> <br /> We had been looking for a plumber for around a month when we found Ed. We had several plumbing projects but one in particular that was bothersome. We?ve had a toilet flange that has been problematic for years. It was not flush to the floor causing our toilet to rock, which eventually caused the flange to break. Recently we tried to install a new toilet using the broken flange and decided we needed to have it fixed. <br /> Many of the plumbers we called immediately said that we would probably have to chip up the concrete in our basement floor to <br /> countersink the flange. This was worrisome to us as we had concerns about what future damage that might cause to our concrete subfloor. Also, we had concerns that if we wanted to install tile later on that the flange might end up too low below the floor to be effective. <br /> Ed?s response to our concerns was very practical and reassuring. He let us know that he couldn?t effectively evaluate the issue until he saw the toilet and that to truly know what flange solution would be appropriate he would have to remove the old flange. <br /> <strong>Ed?s Solution</strong> <br /> Needless to say we had Ed out and he was great. He removed the old flange, determined that a normal flange would still be too tall and wouldn?t allow the toilet to sit flush to the floor. Ed ended up installing metal rings that he bolted into the concrete subfloor. (A product he has used in his own home.) These rings weren?t as tall as a normal plastic flange and the bolts he used to secure the rings to the floor were much less destructive than having to chip out concrete to counter sink the flange.  Plus, we can use the flange as is if we ever decide to install a tile floor. <br /> Thanks Ed. We?re so happy to have a working bathroom again. <br /> <strong>Pricing</strong> <br /> We got several quotes and felt Ed?s pricing was very competitive if not slightly more affordable than most. <br /> <strong>Ladies Looking for a Plumber</strong> <br /> I work from home so I am typically the one hiring and letting vendors into our home to do repairs. (As well as coordinating repairs <br /> for our rental properties.) Finding professionals that I am comfortable with is always a priority. Ed is great! He is very much the loveable grandfather everyone wishes they had. Except he?s even better because he?s a great plumber! <br /> <strong>Who Are We?</strong> <br /> My husband and I are both professionals who also manage several rental properties in our spare time. <br /> <br />"

FAQs for plumbing installation for a remodel or addition projects in Belleville, IL

Adding bathroom plumbing to a detached garage starts with the basic line installation cost of $900 to $1,300. On top of this base expense, you'll need to budget for each fixture. A toilet costs  $250 to $550, sinks cost $150 to $800, and a shower or bathtub costs $400 to $1,900. The project will also require ventilation, moisture-resistant materials, and possibly electrical work. Remember that these costs reflect only the plumbing aspects—additional construction, finishing, and permitting expenses will apply to complete a functional bathroom space.

While certain aspects of garage renovation might be suitable for DIY enthusiasts, plumbing installation requires professional expertise. Connecting to water and sewer systems demands specialized knowledge and equipment, and improper installation can result in severe water damage, code violations, and potential health hazards. Most municipalities require permits for plumbing modifications, and these often stipulate that licensed professionals must perform work. Consider limiting your involvement to simpler tasks like painting or basic finishing work.

The timeframe for adding plumbing to a detached garage spans one to three days for the actual plumbing work. However, this represents only the active installation period. The complete project timeline must account for planning, obtaining permits (which can take weeks depending on your locality), coordinating multiple contractors if needed, and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise during installation. Weather conditions can also impact excavation and outdoor connection work.

Adding plumbing to a detached garage will likely increase your property taxes. Tax assessors consider plumbing an improvement that enhances property value and functionality. The specific tax impact varies by location and project scope. Converting a garage into living space with plumbing facilities can trigger significant reassessment in many jurisdictions. Before proceeding with your project, consult your local tax assessor's office to understand the potential tax implications and factor this ongoing expense into your decision-making process.
