As we were replacing a clay tile roof with asphalt shingles, Eugene & team did a great job covering up some of the tan lines the old tile roof left on our paint. The reason for the quality ding: There was an issue with air flow to the roof we discovered years later and Eugene has been very responsive to help get the roof air flow dialed in appropriately. Once the air flow update is finished I will be sure to increase the quality score up by a star or two. He's a great friendly and timely roofer who I'd recommend for anybody in the area."

I have recently cancelled my DIRECTV service and called them to get an estimate on repairing/replacing the shingles where the satellite dish was mounted. They told me that they would send someone out by the end of the week to remove the dish and replace the damaged shingles at no cost. We had a lot of work to do outside of replacing our roof, including replacing all our insulation and gutters, and we discovered a lot of challenges once the roof had been removed (ours is an older house that has been a well of surprises over the years!). "Rick spent a lot of time answering our questions and made some great suggestions. We had some dead valleys and some low slope areas and we upgraded to copper looking roofing in those areas. They were careful protecting our plants and landscaping and clean-up. They used a dump trailer rather than a dumpster. Our house was built underventlated and damaged some underlayment. He replaced numerous sheets of plywood (no chip-board!) added needed ventilation and did a great job installing on our roof- some of it was a 12:12 pitch- and it was hotter than blazes. For the price we got the highest quality installation that is possible. Emerald State's quote included all of the additional items that other roofer consider optional, such as ridge venting and a 50 year warranty. When you figure this in, nobody can touch their offer 2 - Workmanship - The crew works meticulously to place all of roofing materials in exactly the right place with the right fit. There are many components that go into the various layers and corners/edges of the roof. On my home, there were several different levels of roof with different edge arrangements. The crew has to take the time to fit all of the materials perfectly so that it looks good and doesn't allow for water penetration. I watched as they worked and they made sure it was done right and looked good. 3 - Comfort during process - The crew worked long and hard to get our job done in a manner that was the least impact on our lives. Each night they would clean up the debris that came off the roof. This included using magnets all over the property to make sure all of the metal was picked up, including the thousands of nails that will come down. Each one of those is a flat tire or injury waiting to happen. The bottom line is that not all roofing companies are the same. Emerald State has figured out how to deliver the best value for your $$ to you, the homeowner."
