"While having a roof torn off and replaced will never be a pleasant experience because of the noise - they truly made this as painless as For - ...possible. starters Clint came out and showed me exactly what the steps would be, and he didn't talk down to me because I'm female (so much more pleasant and respectful than some others out there!) Next - the crew took excellent care of the plants around the house (it is a jungle!), and left the patio and garage cleaner than they found them! Finally - I have a beautiful new roof - love the way it looks!! "

"EcoHome came in with the lowest bid to replace my roof in the Lake Tapps area, and within a week a "Delta Force" like crew assaulted roof, had it removed in one day, and replaced the next. Dumpster showed up magically the day before, and magically was gone two days later. EcoHome let me dispose lot of junk in their dumpster which was a big plus for me, an old deck roof that was rotted out, which I removed myself, even though the crew kept trying to help, which was not part of the deal. EcoHome, understood, I still had a few items left to finish on my home remodel, and worked with and around me as I finished my tasks. Overall, they get 5* for price, 4.5* communication-pay attention to what financing terms are and add on's cost, 5* for efficiency and knowing there trade. My only complaint was the flashing cut into my brick chimney which I rate about 3.0, it won't leak, just doesn't look great. Hey they are not brick masons! Understand you are buying a "rubber roof", and the materials my not look as robust/thick as asphalt roofs, but after some research I was OK with the product. EcoHome has a great warranty and long standing product manufacturer, just keep an eye on the job details and you will be OK. One last thing, they were doing a great job of clean up, picking up every little piece until I stopped them, grabbed the nail magnet, and leaf blower and sent the crew back to the roof. Let them do the major stuff and clean up your yard yourself. db "

"KSingleCorp gets 5 stars. We had been building a home for our daughter and her family and, once the rafters were up, we realized we were past ...our ability to finish the roof. Joni and the KSingleCorp crew came in very quickly, just beating the rainy weeks ahead, and got the CDX and waterproofing up. Their work was complicated by the fact that we – as amatures - had not quite finished getting rafters up on a back deck, our bird blocking was not straight and we had some high CDX sheathing we hadn’t completed. We were particularly impressed with the foreman, José, whose answer to all our questions was “Sure, we can do that”. Very highly recommend this group. "

Ideas & Inspiration from Seattle Roofing Contractors

Seattle Metal Roofing

For homeowners who are tired of worrying about their roofs, metal roofing is one of the best options available, as it's as close to maintenance free as you can get. When properly installed, life expectancy for metal roofing is essentially forever, or at least the lifetime of your home. Natural slate offers a similar life expectancy, except slate tiles are brittle and tend to see a good amount of repair work during their lifetime. This is just one of the reasons why, for homeowners in and around Seattle, metal roofing is the best balance of low maintenance requirements, longevity, and affordability the market has to offer.

You may have heard (or hear) negative things about metal roofing, some of which are legitimate, others of which are unfounded, and still others that are old problems that have been solved with modern metal roofing. You might imagine how falling rain would sound pinging against an aluminum surface. Study after study has shown that (nowadays) metal roofing is no noisier than any other. In fact, with insulation and structural barriers designed specifically to challenge this perception, your metal roofing might be the quietest roof you've ever owned. It should be noted that some homeowners choose to install metal roofing the old way that includes the gentle (and some consider romantic) patter of rain; in fact, Seattle metal roofing companies may even offer a "rust" finish, amplifying the nostalgia of the installation and giving a look of age and authenticity to your new roof.

More Benefits

  • Roof Pitch and Weight:
Metal roofs are so effective at repelling snow, sun, and other elements that they can be installed with a more gentle slope than the competition. Metal also weighs considerably less than tile, meaning you'll need less structural support underneath. As if these factors weren't benefits in themselves, metal roofing is perfect for homeowners who might want to consider an attic conversion, either now or down the road.

  • Easy Installation:
Metal roofing is installed in sheets that take relatively short order for an experienced contractor. Though the price of metal roofing is greater compared to asphalt shingles, this will help cut down on total cost.

  • Fire and Pest Resistance:
Fire resistance is great for peace of mind and minimizing the damage of the nightmare scenario, but pest resistance is something that will almost surely help the well being of your home. Since you get both with metal roofing, Seattle homeowners may even be able to get an insurance reduction by opting for this material!

Roof Cleaning
The Pacific Northwest is one area of the country where moisture plays a huge factor in the installation of nearly every exterior home component you can imagine. The high levels of moisture present in the area makes Seattle a prime location for roof problems due to precipitation. When dealing with asphalt shingles in Seattle, roof cleaning is about more than appearances. The debris, moss, and other gunk that can build up on a roof cam be particularly damaging to shingles, causing them to warp, lift, and become poor protectors for the materials underneath.

While it's true that some homeowners opt to clean their metal roofing, Seattle homes topped with properly installed metal roofs are less likely to see the same sorts of problems associated with debris and moss build-up. Not only will this debris have a more difficult time adhering to metal roofing, Seattle's metal roofs are also much tougher than asphalt shingles, making them more durable even if build-up does occur.

Drawbacks and Cost
The one drawback that continues to be a problem for some metal roofing products is denting and scratching. To avoid these issues, you'll need to choose either stainless steel, a thicker aluminum, or copper roofing materials, which can run a pretty penny. There's an easy way to tell, however, if your metal roof is up to the challenge of Seattle hail and windstorms: guarantees. Because some Seattle metal roofing companies offer guarantees that their roofs cannot be dented or even chipped or scratched, you're covered even if damage does occur.

No metal roofing could be termed cheap, but many lines of metal roofing are comparable to higher-end roofing materials such as composite and foam roofing. In fact, our data suggests that metal roofing installation is generally one of the least expensive roofing projects, averaging only $5,500. These numbers are most likely skewed by vertical house designs that are particularly accommodating and pleasing to the eye with metal roofing. The gentle pitch also helps reduce the total area of needed roofing.
