"We used this company a few years ago and had a good experience. This year they came out and gave us a quote for a lawn program. We paid in advance for the aeration/overseeding and all the fall lawn treatments and then never heard back from the company. After a few weeks we called the business line and the owner/manager's cell phone and he never called us back. We called both more than once and even told the receptionist that we were going to have to cancel the service and ask for a refund and he did not call us back. Finally we cancelled the service and asked for a refund. Now it's probably too late to hire someone else. Very disappointing."

"First, Turf-Logic is the fourth such service I've used. They are the best of the bunch. If you have a problem lawn, give them a try. <br /> All of the companies of this type are doing basically the same thing. It's what you would do if you followed the instructions on a bag of fertilizer at Home Depot. You apply 4 or 5 times each time using a slightly different formula for the time of year. Conventional wisdom around here is also to do a grub treatment once a year and lime at the start of the season. (This is what I call and quot;the standard gameplanand quot;) What a DIY lacks is expertise on how best to treat problem lawns like mine. So what I want from these companies is for them to actually pay attention to my lawn, how it reacts to the treatments, and work to make it better. The three previous companies (my landscaper who cuts grass and cleans up yard, Scott's Lawn Care and one other turf maintenance company) basically worked hard to get me to sign up for the service then just followed the standard game plan. They didn't evaluate my lawn. They didn't actually stop by to see what effect the treatment had made to suggest followup or changes to the plan. They just showed up at the next scheduled time and applied the next stage. And they sent their bills in a timely manner. <br /> Turf-Logic did a decent job in the initial evaluation. I was able to speak to the technician who came to apply the treatments to get his take on the state of the lawn and explain what my lawn needed. He made some adjustments to that day's treatment as a result. In mid July they did another treatment but also updated the soil testing and confirmed I would need additional lime treatments. This is what I base my Professionalism rating on and no one else would get an and quot;Aand quot;. I'm hoping they continue the same or greater level of attention. <br /> It takes probably a season and a half to see if a corrective program is getting anywhere so I'll be patient. But it's a solvable problem so I think it's reasonable ot expect results and not the and quot;Oh welland quot; I got from the previous firms. <br /> I also want to add that Turf-Logic has been VERY good about scheduling and notifications. I have two dogs who have the run of half my yard. I need TL to work with me to come when I've arranged for the dogs to be elsewhere. They have been very good about this."

"Mike was great from the beginning of our correspondence!  I chose his company because he fully embraces the organic lawn care. We had been managing our lawn personally but this past summer drought and infestation of crabgrass & grubs took their tole on our lawn & me!  We prefer to use organic lawn care and have had great success using nematodes to control grub problems.  But we needed an overhaul on our soil to really make the necessary improvement needed to have a happy lawn.  Mike is very knowledgable on all aspects of organic lawn care and continues his education attending seminars for organic soil solutions. <br /> Based on the soil test, Mike and his team followed up with core aerating our lawn and slice seeding/fertilizing.  I must say that their machines did an amazing jjob.  The cores were a nice depth and the slice seeder really cut into the soil and placed the grass seed neatly in its wake.  (We tried a slice seeder from Home Depot a year ago and it was terrible quality and a waste of time.)   <br /> I had a few questions for Mike regarding how to water and care for the newly planted grass seeds and what other follow up they would be coming back to do.  Mike replied back very quickly...and even on a holiday weekend!  It was much appreciated!  <br /> I'm happy to report that as of today, Oct 31, the grass seed has filled in all the grub damaged spots nicely and filled in the overall yard making for a thicker grass cover.  We are looking forward to starting the spring with a happy new lawn!! <br /> Thanks Organic Soil Solutions! <br />"

"Price was very reasonable for specified services.  Very prompt with lawn assessment and estimate. Provided services promptly.  Fertilizing produced greener thicker grass where there already was some grass.  Overseed, however, was not effective on the bare areas, due to lack of soil prep.  Core aeration alone was not adequate soil prep for overseeding on Hard bare ground and areas covered in dead grass.  I got better results when I followed up with some soil loosening and seeding myself.  This should have been obvious to a professional and included in plan and pricing. Granted I have a challenging lawn site, so it needed a more complete plan. <br /> Overseeding was done too late in year, immediately before heavy acorn and leaf fall, which further undermined new grass growth.  I suggested an earlier, even Spring seeding and agent dismissed the suggestion because of weed growth in summer.  Better to have some grass growth mixed with weeds, than no grass growth at all. <br />"
