We are a small construction company that believes carpentry is a craft as much as a job. We specialize in rammed earth homes, remodels and new construction projects such as ADUs, DADUs, additions, kitchens, bathrooms and garages. We take pride in our work, communicate effectively, work hard and try to have a good time along the way. Looking forward to working with you on your next project!

"If you have a home project, go ahead and get as many bids as you want, but you need to hire 5 Quarter Construction. the owner, Walker, was always on time. The restoration of my 2 bathrooms and the garage was completed to my satisfaction. Walker was always on time, no delays, great communication, quality work. I hope I don't have another broken sewage pipe in my house, but if I do, I would hire 5 Quarter Construction again without any hesitation. 5 Quarter Construction gets a 5 star rating from me. Thank you Walker!"

DaBella is the leading home improvement company in the United States. With more than 23 offices throughout the United States, we're striving to transform home improvement services. We work with you to create value in your home by providing outstanding service and premium products for roofing, siding, windows, and bath replacement systems. Since 2011, DaBella has grown to become one of the largest home improvement services companies in the United States. "Our core purpose is to care for families and their homes. We strive to provide the best customer experience and the best environment for our growing workforce," said CEO, Donnie McMillan, Jr. "The explosive growth we have achieved in such a short time period is an incredible story in and of itself. It was only possible because we created a culture committed to helping people realize their vision. Not only the career goals of our own people at DaBella, but also for those homeowners who we serve every day." In our industry, it's common for people to talk about the dream of one day owning their own business, often driven by the desire to make a lot of money. The start to our story, however, is different. It entails a motivated, young family who had worked in the home improvement industry but envisioned a different kind of home services company. The goal was not just to build a business, but to create an extended family, where employees, suppliers and most importantly, customers, were part of the family. Not coincidently, the company was founded at the same time as the family was blessed with twins. In fact, the name of the company comes from a combination of their names -- David and Isabella. But DaBella is so much more than a company's name. From the beginning it has been a second family name for employees. It's the nameplate of a company who works in the name of families.

"I called HarleyExteriors to get a quote on 3 windows and anew sliding glass door with a pet door in it. From the gentleman who sold me on the products, to the gentleman who came to take the final measurements, to the man who scheduled and ordered all the products I could tell that this was an exceptional company. The crew arrived on time and got right to work and were done in a good time period. They had me come to inspect the finished product and made sure I knew how to work the locks. While they were working the gentleman who had set everything up for the job stopped by the house to check out the work. When they were done the area was cleaned up and everything put away. I am really impressed with the whole process and then the President of HarleyExteriors called to make sure I was satisfied. As I continue to replace my old windows I know that I have found the company who will get my business."

At Evergreen Home Exteriors we are all about our customers. Our philosophy is simple. We give customers the kind of experience we ourselves would want. Everything we have learned about customer service has been from our experience as customers and feedback from our customers over the past decades. We have developed a seamless communication system that allows our customers constant access to their project, no matter what phase of the process they are in. If you are tired of the mediocre service that has become the new normal, then give us a try! We will make you a customer for life!!

"As the GC for my own full home renovation, I was looking for a turn-key company that I could outsource and trust to handle the exterior work for my house (new house wrap, siding, and window/door installation). I was really optimistic about this company because they were a Hardie-certified installer. I hired them to install about 30 top-of-the-line Andersen windows, several exterior doors, and install all new Hardie siding and trim. Unfortunately things went south on day 1 and continued to spiral out of control. In a nutshell, I had three different project managers assigned to me throughout the project, and neither of them came on site once the project started (until the very end, and the last project manager was awesome... kuddos to him!). The first crew that came on board were subcontractors, not Evergreen employees. When they started to install my windows, I knew immediately that they did not know how to properly flash a window sill (they had gaps in the Vycor flashing, didn't wrap the sill properly, etc. etc.). I called this to the PM's attention but nothing was done. The crew installed all windows in one day, not properly flashed. Crew was retrained and came back to "fix" them, but still didn't properly flash them. Meanwhile, they were taping the seams on our house wrap in the rain, when the house wrap was wet, so nothing stuck and had to be redone. Fortunately this crew was let go and I was told they were going to bring their "in-house" crew to finish. The next crew was awesome and they ended up removing all windows and reinstalling them. In total, each window was installed three times! As a result, some of the nail flanges and seals were broken. I called this out to the PM and owner of the company but did not get a response. From this point on, the crew that stayed on did a good job and was pleasant to work with (but I found out they were also subcontractors, not "in-house" employees as I was told up front). The delivery of a few windows and doors were delayed by about three months, which was my responsibility. I told all project managers about this upfront, including the first project manager before the project started. He said it was okay and that we could start the project and hold back a specific percentage amount of the project payment until they arrived so they could return to complete it at a later time. He and I agreed and the project moved forward. When the owner of the company, Jon Jordan, found out about the window/door delays, he was irate. His brother/GM and PM (who were both very polite and professional) called me and tried to negotiate a higher partial payment percentage rate which was absolutely frustrating to me. I explained to them that I had suffered for months through the project with extreme errors and redos, which caused mental angst, and that we had already agreed on a percentage on day one. Nonetheless, I was willing to increase the partial payment a little bit just to wrap things up. The owner followed up that evening by texting me in an aggressive, threatening tone. He said my only options were to allow them to finish the project immediately (which was impossible because we didn't have the remaining windows or doors), or pay them in full immediately and they would return after the doors/windows arrived a few months later. Otherwise he would sue me and put a lien on my home. He and I hadn't even spoken prior to that, and it was shocking to get such an aggressive text from a guy who never even heard my side of the story… I proposed to the owner that we cease the contract immediately, and that I would pay them for all work completed at that point. We agreed on how much work was remaining, and removed that amount from the contract price. We cancelled the contract, he had his remaining materials picked up and that was that. Again, I was hopeful for this company and wanted to have a great experience, but due to the poor project management experience, inexperienced subcontractors who caused damage and significant delays, and a sue-happy, angry owner who lacked professionalism and compassion, I could never re-consider hiring, let alone recommend, this company for any type of contracting work."

FAQs for interior trim and decorative moldings installation projects in Bellingham, WA

Trim is the catch-all term for the boards that finish off transitions around doors, windows, floors, and ceilings. Molding is a subset of trim—often more ornate—that adds visual flair where two surfaces meet. In other words, every molding is trim, but plenty of trim (like simple baseboards or door casings) isn’t considered molding because it focuses on function over decoration.

Painting trim before installation keeps drips off your walls and floors, but you’ll still need to fill nail holes and touch up later. Painting after installation eliminates most of that touch-up work, yet it requires careful taping to protect surrounding surfaces. Both options work; choose the one that best fits your schedule and comfort level with prep tasks.

Glue speeds up installation and skips the hassle of filling nail holes, but removal later can tear up drywall, and warped boards are harder to fix. Nails take a bit longer, yet they hold trim securely and make future repairs simpler. Most pros stick with nails for a durable, professional-looking finish.
