"We wanted new railings on our porch. The overhang was old but in good condition. The wood under was rotted though. We were told the overhang would have to come down by a different company. Not so with Q&R. Wood was replaced, and overhang remains. We got our new hand rails, decided to have shingles redone, new glass storm doors installed on 3 entry ways, and porch painted. Robert walked us through everything that was done answered every question straight forward and patiently. ( and I had a bunch of question) They were courteous, on time and if his team could not make it for whatever reason, we were notified. Jobs were finished in a few weeks. "We have used Alan Drake MANY times at this point -he is our go-to contractor for all our projects big & small. Our first experience of him was when he finished our basement after we had it lowered a foot (by another company). Did a great job from the first minute - was reasonable on price, had the expert on his team, Karl, draw our plans for rebuilding our basement steps & finishing basement for permit purposes,  framed & built walls, finished with trim/cabinet doors, and then had his team paint the whole thing. We then had to use him after our basement unfortunately flooded from Irene when he had to redo a good amount of the work he had done the year before. We've used his team to paint our entire house top to bottom & they did an efficient and beautiful job. Have used them to clean our gutters periodically and power wash the back of our house and patio - always at a reasonable price. And this latest time when our sewer pipe backed up and caused a flood only days before we were having an open house, he came through and squeezed us into his schedule at the last minute, seeing what an emergency it was. Alan is a friendly, extremely personable guy, and beyond fair in price and setting expectations. We highly highly recommend him. He is our hero! Tip: Alan communicates best by text because he is so very busy.

"Howard and his crew did a great job removing decades-old wallpaper from our foyer, stairway, upstairs hallway and master bedroom. They then repaired the drywall, skim-coated everything, and primed and painted the walls. They also primed and painted (with three coats) all the upstairs bedroom doors and closet doors and trim, which had been previously stained and varnished with a very dark finish. And they did it all in two days. They were fast, professional, and neat."
