" We hired Mr. Gomez Construction to transition our home from vinyl siding to a complete stucco exterior, including granite steps & additional stone work. Jose, the owner, is an absolute gentlemen. There are multiple methods used to install stucco, and he clearly explained all of them. His prices were competitive & even reasonable. Communication both prior & during the ongoing work was seamless, with any questions or issues addressed immediately. The workers were punctual, respectful, and their attention to detail was amazing. The completed work easily exceeded our expectations. They also ensured that the work area was cleaned thoroughly. If you’re looking for a great contractor who provides excellent work, you must put Mr. Gomez Construction on your list. Thanks for a fantastic job!"

Customers say: Quick response

"We hired this contractor through HomeAdvisor for a brick job and couldn?t be happier with the results. The work was done professionally, on time, and exactly as discussed. The brickwork looks great and blends perfectly with the existing structure. Communication was clear throughout the project, and the job site was left clean when they were finished. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for quality masonry work and would hire them again."

"This is an extremely consolidated version of the disaster we experienced with Father & Sons (Sam) due to character count limitations. We fired them after paying them because they were unable to complete the job, and what they did do was mostly wrong. They couldn?t finish the basement renovation, and it dragged out for over four months. They quoted 3 weeks + permitting time. They installed the wrong windows. Twice! They are not to code, and they never even finished installing them. We need to contract someone new to remove and replace the windows that they failed to install. Their electrical was non-functional, not to code, and a fire hazard, according to multiple other electricians who are cleaning up their fire hazards and code violations. F&S or their subcontractors stole tools from me. Their drywall work was absolutely atrocious, with cuts missed by several inches and multiple electrical outlets left with holes that outlet covers can?t hide. They?re a very small crew"

"Highly recommend Innovative Exteriors for your next project! They did a fantastic job at a very fair price! My chimney was crumbling and they restored it beautifully. They showed up right on time, finished the job on time and left the job site so clean it was like they were never there! Impressive. I’ve had many contractors do various projects at my house throughout the years and I have to say Innovative Exteriors are the best I’ve ever dealt with from communication to execution of the project. Can’t speak highly enough!"

FAQs for traditional stucco repair or partially replace projects in Belmar, NJ

Minor stucco fixes—like sealing small cracks or adding fresh caulk—often wrap up in an hour or two. Larger jobs that call for cutting out damaged sections, installing new lath, and layering fresh stucco can stretch to three or four days because each coat needs time to cure. A pro removes loose material, cleans and dampens the area, applies a bonding agent, and builds up new layers, matching texture and restoring the wall’s weather shield.

Watch for a stucco surface that stays damp days after a storm, develops dark stains, or feels soft or spongy under light pressure. Inside, moisture rings, peeling paint, or soft drywall around windows point to the same issue. Any of these red flags mean water is trapped behind the siding, and it’s time to call a stucco pro before rot or mold sets in.

Give your stucco a once-over every spring and fall. Semiannual checks let you catch hairline cracks, stains, or damp spots before they snowball into pricey repairs. Keep a flashlight handy, look closely around windows and doors, and call a pro if you notice anything soft or discolored. Staying ahead of minor issues protects both your curb appeal and your home’s weather barrier.

A pro starts by scraping away loose material, then cleans and lightly wets the area so new stucco will stick. After brushing on a bonding agent, they build fresh layers, letting each coat cure before adding the next. The final step is matching the texture and color so the patch blends in and the wall regains full weather protection.

Think of repair as a patch: the pro fixes only the visible crack or hole. Remediation goes deeper—crews strip away the compromised stucco, correct the root problem (often water or mold), then rebuild the wall. If tests show structural rot or trapped moisture, remediation is the safer, longer-lasting route; otherwise, a straightforward repair often does the trick.
