The main focuses of the project were a gut remodel of the kitchen, transforming an upstairs bonus room into a bathroom, and structural work on the upstairs principal bedroom to raise the interior dormer entrance heights and reinforce the roof. It was all done with a high level of professionalism and quality, even when the inevitable surprises popped up (eg. the previous owner put down the old kitchen floor tile with plain old cement, which required days of jackhammering). Sure, Edian questioned some of my design choices ("who tiles all four walls of the kitchen?"), but in the end, the results are stunning. It took longer than either of us expected, partly because of the "surprises," partly because of my pickiness, and partly because adding a secret door in the kitchen isn't as simple as it sounds. "The work took much longer than expected (4 months) and we ran right down to the max on what our home owner's insurance would allow for us to be put up in a hotel. D & R worked to fit us in around a lot of other jobs and this made it difficult to get much done quickly or more than 1-day per week of work in. One subcontractor was unprofessional and refused to do work he had agreed to causing us a 3-week delay. D & R was open with communication of setbacks or concerns, which we appreciated, and eventually replaced the subcontractor. Overall I am happy with the work. Some small details might be improved in the finish work. For example, there are some small lumps in some drywall patches that the painters might have finished better and one section of ceiling paint that did not match the rest of the ceiling. The flooring was replaced on the entire second floor (apx. 800 sq feet) and they did a great job with this especially considering they had all the furniture to contend with while they did the work. They provide a guarantee for a year for their work. The owner is responsive to contacts and pleasant. I would hire them again."

"Mr. Neary is a pleasure to work with and does excellent work with attention to details.  This was not an easy job as installation of new doors in an old building can be tricky.   He also worked on weekends when facility was not busy with children and activities.

"Sanfer and team were great to work with for the addition of closets in a bedroom as well as for adding an entirely new bathroom on our 3rd floor. Along with all new plumbing and electric it also included a new, ducted mini-split heating system for that zone. His pricing was in line with the other companies I spoke with and he ultimately was the winning bid due to his collaboration during the process. it was a blank room and we worked on a few different layouts to get it right!From a management standpoint, there were sub-contractors needed(electrical and plumbing requires a licensed individual to pull permits in my city) and multiple inspections were required and he did a great job managing all of those moving parts in a timely fashion. All in all, I'd hire Sanfer again and plan to talk to him about a deck and kitchen remodel."
