"JL Smith is our go to contractor. He has brought our 50 year old house into the 21st century. Over a few years he has remodeled our: basement, kitchen, master bath, hall bath and foyer. Additionally, he painted the rooms on our main floor, replaced all the interior doors and hardware and upgraded our electrical system. We didn’t want just a cosmetic redo. We wanted our house to be ready to carry us through retirement with minimal issues. So our renovations were from the studs out. This included plumbing, electrical, wall insulation and termite repair. We love working with Mr. Smith. He is unflappable. His integrity, calm demeanor, expert workmanship and customer focus is what sets him apart from other competitors. If we have another project or are asked to refer a contractor to family or friends, we go to Joe Smith. I cannot recommend JL Smith more highly."

"Sliding door unable to move for years. Dexter was the only technician that came and was able to repair. He fixed some damaged wood. Change rollers and made a few adjustments. The door felt like new. Very professional, communicated thoroughly and got the job done. We have some window work to do and we will be having him back to do the work. "I very much recommend this contractor! Answers fast, gives extremely fair prices, gives fast appointments AND the show up on time! They are very polite and nice. They also clean up the station after they’re done! I find them reliable, quality work and fairly priced. They also work as long as they need to. For our house they: Fixed the window frames outside because the mortar was broken or eroded and when it stormed outside, it rained inside our house. They changed rotten wood, painted it, cemented places in the brick wall that needed it, put mortar/caulk and sealed 4 windows from the outside. The other project was putting bifold closet doors which included cutting them to size, installing the hardware, and painting them. This was the first time I’ve had to hire someone to fix things around the house that I couldn’t, and I was really nervous. I’m grateful I found Chapin Handyman LLC through Angie’s list! Oh! And they are insured and bonded, too!"

"Excellent experience! Ferny was right on time to give me a fair estimate for some minor work to be done repairing doors, fixing drywall, and painting over it. We promptly agreed to his estimate and he returned just about an hour later to do the job (the timing worked for us). "The door of one of kitchen cabinets broke free from head rail and had to be re glued. Bobby responded to the call immediately, came over same day, examined the job and quoted the price for repairs. Did a wonderful job of repairing the door. Replaced a part of the valve of the fill tank of toilet and made adjustments to the water supply to reduce the noise while the tank fills with the water. Bobby is very knowledgeable and highly recommend him."
