"Archie and carol were amazing! They were sweet, on time, professional and were extremely easy to have as our cupboard restyle experts. They protected our floors, and kept everything clean during and after doing our job. Would recommend them highly, and would use them again for any job. Thank u so much for a beautiful job!"

"After calling a variety of places in town and not getting a response,I called Lincoln Cabinet. They promptly returned phone calls, had designs to choose from and a showroom to choose finishes. If we had a question or concern they returned my call and were stopping by to see how they could help. They were very professional and wonderful to work with. I would use their company again in the future. <br />"

"As the daughter of a carpenter, I know first-hand how messy a home interior can get with sanding, sawing, etc. I was amazed at the care Mr Barrett took with our home and keeping it livable during the remodel. I, who have a demanding attention to detail, was satisfied with the work, the timeliness, the care, and the attention he paid to my concerns. I could ask for no better treatment. <br />"

"We would highly recommend this company to anyone.  Kenny and his crew managed to complete in 2/12 weeks what our previous contractor failed to do in two months.  They completed the installation of the cabinets and flooring in the kitchen as well as fixed issues with plumbing and electrical work.  Kenny's attention to detail when completing the back splash in the kitchen was second to none.  They completely refinished a gutted bathroom by building/tiling a shower, tiling the floor, installing a vanity and medicine cabinet.  In addition they framed  and dry walled the basement bedroom and installed new windows and a closet door. <br /> All work completed was done in a professional manner and we are completely happy with the results.  Kenny and his crew had a plan in place for each day, conveyed that plan to us and completed what they said they would accomplish.  Kenny was on site each day by 7:30-8 a.m. and worked until 5:30--6:00 p.m..  He even worked on weekends so that he could complete the project in the time frame that he said he would.  Kenny and his crew were always courteous and personable.  We appreciated the fact that they cleaned up after themselves each day.  We also appreciated the kindness they demonstrated with our children and pets. <br /> Kenny is an exceptional painter and painted all three rooms quickly and professionally.  We plan on using him any time that we need painting done down the road. <br /> Kenny has great connections with subcontractors and we were quite pleased with the work of his drywaller and electrician.  He was also able to recommend a roofing and flooring company that gave us a good bid on refinishing our wood floor. <br /> We would be happy to talk with anyone who is considering remodeling and look forward to working with Kenny and his crew on future projects."

FAQs for cabinets reface projects in Lincoln, NE

Absolutely. Refacing returns 65% to 80% of your investment at resale, and you get an updated kitchen right now. Because you’re not paying for new boxes or demo work, the price lands well below complete replacement but still delivers a fresh, custom look that buyers—and you—notice every time you walk in.

To trim costs, start by pricing a high-quality paint or gel stain instead of full refacing—stain alone can be one-third the price of full refacing. Keep existing hinges and pulls if they’re in good shape, and shop sales for sandpaper, primer, and sealer. The sweat equity is real, but so are the savings, and a careful DIY job can still leave your cabinets looking sharp for years to come.

A professional crew needs only three to five days to reface a standard kitchen, although a larger layout or intricate door style may add one to two days. Compare that with the several weeks a full cabinet swap can drag on. In other words, you get your space back fast, often before the paint on the new doors is even fully cured.

Yes, you can replace just the cabinet doors and drawer fronts without covering the cabinet boxes. Cabinet refacing involves installing new doors and drawer fronts while applying veneers to existing cabinet boxes. If you’re satisfied with the condition of your cabinets, swapping doors and drawer fronts reduces labor and materials, saving you time and cost. Always consult a professional to confirm compatibility and ensure a seamless, high-quality finish.

Most cabinet refacing projects do not require removing countertops because professionals can access doors and drawers around existing surfaces. However, if your countertop overhang prevents full access to the cabinet boxes, contractors may need to lift the countertop to install veneers properly temporarily. Discuss this with your refacing specialist during the on-site estimate so you know exactly what the project entails.
