Roof installed in one day. Prior to my new roof being installed I had leaks caused by my solar panels. Corey was my initial contact; Michael was the job-site supervisor. They really listened while I expressed my concerns about the solar company ( which caused the leaks in my roof initially) again not sealing my roof adequately. Corey, who was aware of this through his initial inspection and showed us the pictures he took which detail this, offered and did, indeed, return after the solar panels were reinstalled on the new roof. Trust this company; when their job is over they are still willing to be available for whatever is needed."

"I had water leak in the attic around vent pipes. I sent out quote requests to replace flashing/boots around all pipes. Victor called back next day and came over following day. He immediately went on roof, took pictures and showed me and gave a reasonable estimate. After agreeing, he immediately did the job. "To many other roofers in the NYC Greater region- take note, Vandelay has you beat by quite a bit in terms of understanding a client and the particular needs of the job.  I went through a half dozen estimates and site visits; Vandelay and one other contractor where the only ones who were able to produce a timely, considered estimate.  And this was in the down season!
Regarding the job itself.  It presented several unknowns that Bob and his crew were able to work through and develop solutions to in a timely manner.  The demo went smoothly as well as the new installs and final flashing and chalking details.  At this point, the new roof has been through several storms and seems to be doing quite well.  If there is a problem, Bob seems more that capable to address per the contract, which I certainly appreciate.
Its clear he has a lot of experience doing what he knows, and doing it well.  He has good intuition and understanding of a job and the individuals and characters that might be involved, and how to work with them effectively (including myself likely :)
I've been through a couple of roof jobs at this point on various structures, and felt confident with Bob throughout the job; there were no instances that I felt were be minimized or neglected.  And importantly for a Condo building in NYC, Bob's crew made sure that they premise was CLEANER than when they left which is often a big deal with testy unit owners.
Overall, very pleased with both the estimation process, keeping on budget and timeframe and delivering a sound roof in material and craftmanship.  Highly recommended.
