"Did a very good job, very professional. Made an effort to try to move my water valves closer to the washing machine, but it just was not feasible. He originally put the valves on incorrectly, with the hot valve on the right side. When we noticed this, he went back in and fixed the problem without my asking. He said that he wanted the job to be done right. Was a little more expensive than we thought it would be, but we think that is just plumbing in general."

"These are honest guys who do a decent job. They came out originally on a late night when sewage backed up through the house drains. When it turned out to be a recurring problem, they didn't charge me for the second visit to unclog the same spot through the cleanout. I scheduled a final visit to dig up and send a snake with camera down the pipe to check for problems. Once they dug up the dirt around the pipe, it was quickly discovered that a backflow preventer valve was constantly clogging. They removed the valve from the sewer line, replaced it with straight pipe, and didn't waste any time with the snake. They could have tried to charge me for using the snake, anyway, but they didn't and saved me money in the process. <br /> I'd definitely recommend them for anyone in the area. <br />"

"Joey arrived within 30 minutes of my call for service. He quickly and correctly diagnosed the actual problem (unlike the first contractor who wanted to dig up our yard) and promptly made the repairs with parts he had on his truck. The cost was more than reasonable and far less than what the first contractor quoted. Joey was extremely professional, well spoken, and explained everything clearly. He even cleaned up his work area better than it was before he arrived. <br /> As further evidence of the kind of contractor Hoover Plumbing is, a few days later we had another unrelated water valve that had failed so I called Hoover Plumbing and they bent over backwards to make it convenient for my schedule and arrived within the small window of time I had. The valve was replaced quickly. <br /> Hoover Plumbing is now my first call for any plumbing needs. I offer this positive review because Hoover Plumbing earned every bit of it. <br />"

"The initial charge to diagnose the problem was around $275, $79 for the service call and the rest to run a system leak check which ended at the evaporator coil. They did honor the $50 A.L. coupon. Labor + Freon + minor extra parts (dryer, copper, etc.) for the replacement came to almost $1000. It took 2 men ~4 h to replace it. They charge $110/hour for labor and I don't know if that is for 1 or 2 fellows. However, they billed me according to a "flat rate" fee which they say is an "average" of their costs for similar jobs. It was not clear from the bill exactly what labor v. parts. v. Freon came to. I originally paid $4000 to have the entire compressor and air handler/furnace installed, but the fellow was a friend of mine and I served as his helper; it took all day. Not sure what a fair market retail price would have been, though. <br /> They came out the same day we called them (Friday). Although the evaporator was in stock, they waited until Tuesday to replace it. They took care of the warranty replacement so we did not have to be burdened with that paperwork. <br /> Overall they did excellent work as far as we can tell and came when they said. Although I did not get any other estimates, the overall price seemed pretty high to me. I dunno... <br />  Next time I will get at least one more estimate.I think some companies absorb the diagnostic fee if they do the repair. Apparently Standard does not. <br />"
