Customers say: Quick response

"We have a non freeze out-door farm type hydrant used for utility watering. Some nice renter ran into it with a truck and besides looking like a pretzel, it was leaking for months. Brandon, on his way home from vacation, said he'd be there tomorrow. Along with hand digging a four foot hole through gallons of mud and gook, MMH Plumbing sent me photos of the new value installed. Oh HAPPY DAY! Now I live in North Carolina, not in June Lake, and to be able to trust a company I've only meet over the phone, speaks highly of Mammoth Lakes Plumbing Company."

"The test kit came promptly. We prepared it, sent it back, and received the report the next week. The report itself was quite limited, and not nearly as in depth as the annual report filed by our municipal water company. We expected more detail and were disappointed."

"I had three new toilets installed to replace those originally installed with the house in 1993. The service went very well. From the polite and efficient office administrators, Karen and Rachel, to the competent plumber, Rachel.  An aspect that truly stands out about Evans Mechanical is the attention they provide to the customer. Prior to the toilet installation, I had had Evans replace the furnace (a bigger and more expensive job), and I was pleased with their professionalism every step of the way. Communication matters a great deal, and Karen and Rachel are excellent communicators.  <br /> Curtis, the plumber, was kind, respectful of my home, worked efficiently, and showed me how to clean the tank so that I can hopefully preempt any fungal buildup to which toilets in this humid forested area are prone. He had also found the best possible match to the existing tile in my bathrooms, so we special-ordered the "biscuit" porcelain (for about an extra $100 per toilet).  <br /> I'm very pleased that I went with Evans Mechanical both for my plumbing needs and the new furnace. I felt that I was dealing with a responsive, reputable company that understands the importance of treating customers well. <br />"

"<p>We had our 24 year old leaky windows replaces with new Milgard retrofit window.  This company was quick to come out and give a bid.  They were very friendly and easy to talk to.  I also wanted custom casements and ledges built into my windows.  They listened and looked at pictures of what I wanted. </p> <p>They did exactly what I wanted. The windows turned out so beautiful and my house is so much quieter and cooler.</p> <p>I will definitely be calling these guys out if I need and thing else done on my house.  They do such quality work. </p> <br />"

"They came on the correct day and did the work.  Once they arrived, they called me to say the cost would be an extra $50 because of the square footage.  they were previously cleaned by another company for $100.00.  They left several patches of wet leaves from the gutters on the lawn. <br />"

"They came in cut holes in required places put in the PEX piping, put down paper on floors plastic covered as much as possible, it is a dusty process but they kept it down to as little as possible, only hang-up was waiting for inspectors, they, the inspectors, told us that the job was very good. Once the inspectors signed off they repached the holes and finished the walls to match the existing. Our painter came in and said they did a very good job patching, which saved him a lot of time and us money We are happy campers, have no problem recommending them. Their estimate came in at 50% of the other repipering company."

FAQs for plumbing installation for a remodel or addition projects in Big-pine, CA

Adding bathroom plumbing to a detached garage starts with the basic line installation cost of $900 to $1,300. On top of this base expense, you'll need to budget for each fixture. A toilet costs  $250 to $550, sinks cost $150 to $800, and a shower or bathtub costs $400 to $1,900. The project will also require ventilation, moisture-resistant materials, and possibly electrical work. Remember that these costs reflect only the plumbing aspects—additional construction, finishing, and permitting expenses will apply to complete a functional bathroom space.

While certain aspects of garage renovation might be suitable for DIY enthusiasts, plumbing installation requires professional expertise. Connecting to water and sewer systems demands specialized knowledge and equipment, and improper installation can result in severe water damage, code violations, and potential health hazards. Most municipalities require permits for plumbing modifications, and these often stipulate that licensed professionals must perform work. Consider limiting your involvement to simpler tasks like painting or basic finishing work.

The timeframe for adding plumbing to a detached garage spans one to three days for the actual plumbing work. However, this represents only the active installation period. The complete project timeline must account for planning, obtaining permits (which can take weeks depending on your locality), coordinating multiple contractors if needed, and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise during installation. Weather conditions can also impact excavation and outdoor connection work.

Adding plumbing to a detached garage will likely increase your property taxes. Tax assessors consider plumbing an improvement that enhances property value and functionality. The specific tax impact varies by location and project scope. Converting a garage into living space with plumbing facilities can trigger significant reassessment in many jurisdictions. Before proceeding with your project, consult your local tax assessor's office to understand the potential tax implications and factor this ongoing expense into your decision-making process.
