"Isaac and his crew were amazing to work with. He is upfront with you, and, in my experience, under-promises and over-delivers. I would definitely keep him in mind for your next construction project. He also did my concrete pad a couple years back and it turned out very good."

"These guys do not mess around!! They come ready to work!! They came in on the first day and removed/trucked away all existing chain link fence. They then proceeded to dig new holes and prep the area. They erected temporary barrier fence so that our dogs could still use the back yard. On the 2nd day, they set and pored concrete on all posts. On the 3rd day, they installed the fence and gates. Amazing speed and quality work. <br /> The project mgr. Kale even made contact with me to say he was not pleased with how one of the gates looked and said he wished to order a new one to allow better closed gaps and privacy (he took the words right out of my mouth and I didn't have to mention it)-it is clear that they want to be satisfied with the job as much as the customer would! These guys left a clean site after construction and were very responsive to any questions we had. <br /> I hired this company at the recommendation of a good friend who had previously used them for the fence at his new house. The recommendation was 'spot on'. <br /> Be advised, if you attempt to call the business number and get not answer, it is due to their being out on job sites. If you leave a message or email, they WILL get back to you. <br />"

"I need to revise a previous review. Jim did do excellent work. His cuts were absolutely plumb, straight and horizontal. Previously I made a statement regarding the precision of his cuts and that was only due to one cut extending outside of the area necessary to install the window. I previously stated that I would not use Jim again, which is misleading. I merely meant that, being fairly handy myself, I would feel confident enough to do the same job myself in the future after having seen how it is done. As far as the quality of workmanship, I have no significant reason for criticism. The final product is excellent, complies with code, and provides much better lighting for our future basement bedrooms than what was there before."

"Jenny Bowers is excellent.. someone who takes pride in her work. She purchased the parts from either Lowe’s or Home Depot and showed me the receipt. The cost for the repair was more than reasonable. I had been told by a friend who does repair contracts for hotels that the rotted wood would need to be replaced with PVC material and that’s exactly what she used. Cleaned up inside the house near the door as well as the patio. This lady knows what she is doing . Hire her from TimeSavers in Winston Salem NC. We had contacted another handyman service who said they would first need to come out and take measurements around the door so they would know how much of the supplies would need! I simply took a picture of the door on my cell phone and sent to Ms Jenny at Timesavers Handyman services, she measured what she needed to measure as she was completing the job. Wish we could upload before and after pics. Will hire her again for any other type of services"

"He gave us a time period and it was on the mark. Honey Do Contracting ( John Haman)always let me know when they were coming and what was going to be done that day. Very considerate and I would highly recommend! And I will probably use them again. He would bring me carpet samples -guide me on fixtures and paint samples. Very professional. And his partner Nate is great also. I would give him a AAA rating!!!! <br />"

"I thought ProSeal did a great job- they were professional, I feel like they knew what they were talking about, and ultimately they had a better answer to fixing our issue than having a big concrete replacement project that would have cost a few thousand dollars. <br /> <br /> I used to be in the home-improvement industry, so I checked their insurance and credentials, they had them. (at the time of this posting, their profile on Angie's List says they're not insured or bonded, which caught my attention since they are)."

FAQs for concrete patios, walks & steps installation projects in Billings, MT

Most sidewalks rely on a ready‑mix blend of Portland cement, sand, gravel, and water that trucks deliver to your site and pour in one continuous lift. For added strength, many contractors fold in fiber mesh or steel reinforcement. This mix cures into a rock‑solid slab that stands up to foot traffic, freeze‑thaw cycles, and daily wear for decades. Expect a pro to recommend a 4‑inch‑thick pour for standard walkways.

With the right mix, proper drainage, and routine upkeep, a concrete sidewalk can last 25 to 50 years. Freeze‑thaw cycles, road salt, and heavy loads all shorten that timeline, but sealing every few years and patching small cracks early keeps damage in check. Think of sealing as inexpensive insurance for decades of safe, stable footing. In milder climates, some slabs push well past the 30‑year mark without major repairs.

Concrete sidewalks crack as a result of significant temperature fluctuations and heavy load pressures. The freeze-thaw cycles and sustained weight from vehicles or intense foot traffic force the concrete to develop cracks over time. Applying a premium sealant every two to three years and substituting salt with sand for de-icing minimizes crack formation. Regular maintenance and timely repairs safeguard the sidewalk’s structural integrity and extend its service life.
