"Abel and his crew did outstanding work, and during every step of the process Abel was attentive and knowledgeable. When we set up the estimate, Abel gave a window for the appointment, called when he was close by, and arrived towards the beginning of that window. I had drawn up a sketch with dimensions of what I wanted the patio to look like. He marked the outline of the patio for us so that we could get a sense of the scale, and after asking us a few questions he took more precise measurements. Before he left he gave us an estimate and answered our remaining questions. He sent us a formal proposal a few days later. We got estimates from a few other companies, but decided to go with Abel primarily because of the positive interactions we had with him. His price was also very competitive. As soon as we signed a contract, Abel got us on the schedule and started work within a few weeks. His team did a great job and were efficient with their work. Thanks to the dry weather, they finished the project within a week. We knew that some lawn damage was unavoidable given the required machinery for the work, and once the work was completed, Abel’s crew reseeded/fertilized the parts of the lawn that were impacted. They even reseeded some bald spots that they were not responsible for. Throughout the week, Abel regularly checked in with us, and he was quick to remedy a few minor things that we brought up at the end of the project. We love our new patio and steps, and are very grateful to Abel and his team for their dedicated and superior work. If we need any other landscaping or hardscaping projects completed, we will definitely be giving Abel a call, and we highly recommend him to anyone else."

"Years ago, when our patio was installed, the contractor did not completely tie in one of the pavers. The Ballard team came in and assessed the situation, repaired not only that paver, but tightened up all of the pavers along the perimeter of our patio. That thing isn't going anywhere any time soon! The team arrived when expected, did a good job of cleaning up after themselves, and left me very pleased with the end results."

"Wonderful experience!! This is the second time we have used Maryland Decking and Kyle Funk as our salesperson; they came in on budget for our project and in the time frame that we needed. Kyle is great, but we had a couple questions regarding the placement during installation, so he showed up day of installation with shovel in hand. They want things to be as right as we did, which is refreshing. GREAT customer service! The project consisted of extended a patio that we had done by them a few years ago, you would never know that it wasn’t original, blends perfectly and the crew couldn’t have been better, they worked hard and when we asked a question they stopped to listen and then gave us the answer without being annoyed. Left the site neat and clean too. Hard to find good workers, with good customer service while staying in budget and on time with a great salesperson on top of it! They are a very professional competent team. The fence is exactly what I had hoped for, we now have a little oasis of a backyard."

"SBC did a fantastic job building me a new deck and re-paving the patio area underneath. Justin was great in coming out to measure the area and discuss options for both the deck and the patio. Steve's teams did a wonderful job with the work itself. Everything was done exactly as stated and the end product was exactly what I had hoped it would be. The reason for this not being a 5 start review is two-fold. First, all of the work was scheduled at the last minute, with less than 24 hours notice of when the teams would be out to deliver materials or do the work. Luckily this didn't end up being an issue, but it could be difficult if you're trying to schedule explicitly around the project. Second is the difficulty in getting the final piece of work completed, for installing an exterior electric outlet. It took an extra month after the completion of all other work to get that done. If electrical work is required, I'd recommend contracting that externally to SBC."
