"⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Excellent Service from Mr. Rooter! I had a great experience with Mr. Rooter when our toilet needed repair. From the moment they arrived, they were professional, courteous, and clearly knowledgeable. They quickly diagnosed the issue, explained everything in a way that was easy to understand, and had the toilet fixed in no time. What really stood out was their respect for my home—clean, efficient, and no mess left behind. It’s such a relief to work with a company that takes pride in their work and treats customers well. I highly recommend Mr. Rooter for anyone needing reliable plumbing service. They made a stressful situation simple and stress‑free. "

"Fantastic work, Fantastic price and a great guy. I will use Laux plumbing for all future plumbing needs. I called Laux plumbing when I was calling around for estimates. While most plumbers near the top of the Angie's List listing would hardly listen to what needed to be done before giving an incredibly high estimate, Jerry listened and I didn't feel like he was trying to get off the phone. He spoke to me for quite a while and gave me advice on what valves to look at all before I even hired him. I had already removed the tile and opened the wall since we were going to upgrade the bathroom. I sent Jerry a text with a picture of the existing plumbing and he gave me an estimate that was more than fair. Once he started the the work he made unforeseen adjustments to the piping due to the valves I had purchased and finished the job in a timely manner. Hiring Laux Plumbing was one of those times in life where you know you made a good choice. I'm glad I took the time to go past the top of Angie's List and find an independent local plumber. "When I woke up to find no water flow in the house, I found Tom Wuerderman of B & D Plumbing through Angie's List. Tom came out in a couple of hours and assessed the problem quickly, and got the water running to hold us until the next day. Tom provided two estimates for the repair, one as a less expensive short-term fix, and another one as a better choice update. SInce the water system was out of date and needing component replacement, we made the better choice. Tom returned the next morning and removed an unneeded holding tank, installed a larger bladder tank and new pump, and rearranged the layout in an efficient way that resulted in some bonus storage space. Now the pump doesn't need to run as often and will last longer as a result. Tom is a knowledgeable plumber who worked efficiently and explained everything thoroughly as he performed the job. He was very accommodating in removing the old components and setting them aside so I could salvage the materials. The price for this work was very reasonable and appropriate. To complete his good service, Tom called the next day to make sure the installation was working properly. I would give my highest recommendation for B&D Plumbing to anyone needing this kind of service. <br />"

"Phil Tischbein and Brent were both very professional and pleasant to work with; they work was all performed very carefully, and as planned. They were highly recommended by someone I know through a business relationship who had used their services. Prior to the appointment for cleaning and scoping the sewer drains, they did not charge me for considerable time spent in looking over the home diagnostically for considerations of some drainpipe (off downspouts) redirection work, general diagnostics from walking around the yard that preceded the actual sewer line cleaning and scoping, and cleaning of the trap in the basement. They offered me a couple of proposals for possible ways of handling the downspout/drainpipe issue (too many downspouts apparently being directed toward the inside of the house, through the interior drains or improperly draining to the outside, rather than draining directly outside at a distance from the house). The actual scoping and cleaning of the drains showed the network of piping to be slightly different than originally thought, so some of the drainpipe redirection work is being reconsidered. I also opted to postpone one particular project because of other work planned on the same side of the house that would have involved the drainpipe work, and will reconsider after this other work is completed. In addition, I was given some helpful suggestions regarding improvement of my driveway drain, their solution being an equally suitable and simpler alternative to an idea provided by another contractor. Following the diagnostic & cleaning, Brent kindly drew me a diagram/map of the drainpipe directions and flow, where they drain, and which run through the house (or not). The detail is being provided essentially to communicate that they are very patient and careful in the way that they work with a homeowner, and did not encourage additional work that was either unnecessary, or premature given other projects. My experience thus far has been that they will take the time to diagnose the situation carefully and work out a solution that is agreeable to you as a homeowner, and that takes your priorities into account. It did take a little longer than I might have wanted to have the diagnostic completed, but they were very busy at the time I scheduled initially, and I was very happy with the work completed. They are very thorough, careful, trustworthy and have the kind of extensive experience in doing this work that was important for me, and I think is of value to many homeowners."

FAQs for plumbing installation for a remodel or addition projects in Blanchester, OH

Adding bathroom plumbing to a detached garage starts with the basic line installation cost of $900 to $1,300. On top of this base expense, you'll need to budget for each fixture. A toilet costs  $250 to $550, sinks cost $150 to $800, and a shower or bathtub costs $400 to $1,900. The project will also require ventilation, moisture-resistant materials, and possibly electrical work. Remember that these costs reflect only the plumbing aspects—additional construction, finishing, and permitting expenses will apply to complete a functional bathroom space.

While certain aspects of garage renovation might be suitable for DIY enthusiasts, plumbing installation requires professional expertise. Connecting to water and sewer systems demands specialized knowledge and equipment, and improper installation can result in severe water damage, code violations, and potential health hazards. Most municipalities require permits for plumbing modifications, and these often stipulate that licensed professionals must perform work. Consider limiting your involvement to simpler tasks like painting or basic finishing work.

The timeframe for adding plumbing to a detached garage spans one to three days for the actual plumbing work. However, this represents only the active installation period. The complete project timeline must account for planning, obtaining permits (which can take weeks depending on your locality), coordinating multiple contractors if needed, and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise during installation. Weather conditions can also impact excavation and outdoor connection work.

Adding plumbing to a detached garage will likely increase your property taxes. Tax assessors consider plumbing an improvement that enhances property value and functionality. The specific tax impact varies by location and project scope. Converting a garage into living space with plumbing facilities can trigger significant reassessment in many jurisdictions. Before proceeding with your project, consult your local tax assessor's office to understand the potential tax implications and factor this ongoing expense into your decision-making process.
