"Brian Peed and his team were great! Brian came out on a Saturday morning to accommodate our schedule to give the estimate. Trev & Phillip were our installers and they did quick work on the tear-out of the old carpet & linoleum on our 1st floor. The LVP went down quickly as well and they even let me put in a few planks which was fun! The price was fair. I normally check 3 contractors before deciding but I could only find one other who called me back about the project. Brian impressed me and he also has a location that you can view the samples so I was sold. The other contractor's price was almost identical so I chose Floor Boys due to the professionalism. After the installers had left, one piece of trim around the fireplace lifted up on the ends and they were out just two days later on a Saturday to fix it. I'll definitely use them again!"

"What a wonderful experience! David was early (yay!), professional, courteous and knowledgeable. A great representative for the company. He informed us what he would be doing, why he was doing it and how long the process would take. He answered every question we had and even offered tips on how to keep the carpet looking its best. Win-win!"

"Woody and his crew did a great job. They arrived each morning within a few minutes of the time they said they would. They went straight to work each day and I was amazed at how much they accomplished in 6 or 7 hours. The carpet, padding and old flooring were taken up, sub floor prepped and new laminate and vinyl installed. They cleaned as they went and left the materials out of the way when they left each day. The boss stayed late the 3rd day to finish painting the quarter round so the job could be finished in the promised 3 days. When the installation was done Jim returned to check on the job, pick up the balance and make sure we were satisfied. Overall we were very happy from start to finish and would recommend this company! <br />"

"They did a beautiful job. We are especially impressed with the matching job they did installing around a center fireplace. As the weather changed, the floor buckled somewhat. We called them back twice and they came out quickly and did a fact efficient job. We are very pleased with the result. The floor is beautiful! <br />"

"First, the salesman worked with us on price and negotiated a discount with the manufacturer due to the size of the project. He saved us approximately $1,000. While we were in the store, a couple was there who had had previous work done and they were back to place another order. They spoke highly of the installers who had done their previous work, and we requested those installers (Brad and Daniel). The installers were super professional, prompt and diligent. Brad has worked with Carpet One for 20 years, which says a lot about how the company treats its contractors. The installation work is perfect."

"I walked in the store and told the clerk what I needed and the measurements and use of the room. She asked me a couple of questions and led me over to the roles of carpet to recommend the one that she thought would work best. She also helped me pick out the best color to go with the walls. I had told them that I needed it installed that same week which they said was doable, but as luck would have it, an appointment for the following day was available due to a rescheduling by another buyer. She also suggested that I get the installer to measure the other room that will need carpet soon while he was at the house. <br /> The installer, Ashley Price, called the next day and showed up on time. The installation went quickly and smoothly and looks great. <br /> The installation cost $148.00 which included moving the furniture and hauling away the old carpet. <br /> I was very satisfied with the whole process since I hate to wait for anything! <br />"

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Blythewood, SC

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
