"He came to my house and put a roof on my extinction to my shop in no time. Then he put a new roof on my old shead because I had surgery on both of my hands at the time and was not able to use them. He also came later and helped me put another small head together because he saw I didnt have it done but the nicest thing he did was come fix my roof in the snowy winter because my roof was leaking all over my tools and everything. And he never asked for a dime. No one else would even bother helping me. The best ,kind hearted person you could know."

I once heard it said that owning a home is a full time job! We know how busy life can get, and we are here to help you spend more time with your family. You've got a list of projects that need to get done every season. From winterizing your home, to staining the deck for summer, to getting the gutters cleared out after the leaves fall, our Multi-Skilled Craftsmen can help you prepare your home for whatever the seasons bring your way (we love maintaining homes). Fixing what bugs you. You've been meaning to fix that hole in the wall behind the bathroom door, the squeaky back door, the drip in the shower, and that loose board on the deck. Big things? No, but they're bugging you. Make a list and our Multi-Skilled Craftsmen can knock it out for you (we love fixing what bugs you).

"I hired Handyman Connections on 11/06/24 to have a few projects completed, in order to sell my house. From the start, I had explained that I had plans to list my house by 12/3, to which I was assured it would be completed on time. From the beginning there was a delay with the employee being out, so the project was pushed out a couple days, which I was more than understanding. There was another issue, which I got conflicting stories from the employee and the front desk. One explanation was that the employee’s truck was stolen and in the shop so the work would be completed the first week of December. The other explanation given was just timing. Regardless, no one showed up until I called on 12/4. I explained that 12/9 was the scheduled photos for the house listing, which was pushed out to accommodate Handyman and the delay. Come 12/6, I show up at the house and there is still trash, tape, tools, and a haphazard paint job on the outside of the home. On 12/9 I called and spoke with them about the concerns. There was immediate response on their end and I was assured it would be completed. It is now 12/16 and the contractor still has tools and trash in the home. My issue is the lack of communication and respect for myself, my home, and my time. For a company that “prides“ themselves in customer services and their work, this is not the way to show it. I paid for a service that was to be done well and on a timeline. Unfortunately I did not receive that. I also had to push out photos and listing my home due to this situation. Handyman Connections took an already difficult and hard situation and made it more stressful. I do not recommend this company and urge anyone looking to steer clear."

Converting plaster to drywall requires between three days and one week for a standard-sized room. The timeline includes the removal of existing plaster, the installation of drywall panels, and the application of finishing compounds. Each finishing coat needs time to dry completely before the next application, which extends the overall schedule.
For multi-room projects, expect several weeks of work. Always build additional time into your schedule for unexpected challenges like discovering structural issues behind walls.
Upon discovering potentially hazardous materials like asbestos or lead paint, immediately stop all demolition work. These substances require professional handling by certified remediation specialists using proper containment procedures.
Never attempt to remove these materials yourself, as improper handling can release dangerous particles throughout your home. Contact local environmental testing services to confirm the presence of hazardous materials before proceeding with any further work on your walls.
The decision to replace historic plaster with drywall requires careful consideration of both practical and preservation factors. While drywall offers easier repairs and modern convenience, original plaster contributes significantly to a historic home's authenticity and character.
Many preservation-minded homeowners choose a middle path—repairing plaster in visible, architecturally significant spaces while using drywall in less prominent areas or rooms that experience moisture issues. Check with local historic preservation guidelines, as some districts have specific requirements for maintaining period features.
When your walls are opened during plaster removal, you have an ideal opportunity to address other home improvement needs. Consider upgrading insulation to improve energy efficiency, modernizing outdated electrical wiring, or updating plumbing lines. Adding new electrical outlets or communication wiring becomes much simpler during this phase. Tackling these improvements while walls are already open is significantly more cost-effective than addressing them later as separate projects that would require reopening finished walls.
