"Our front door had been damaged by an attempted break-in for years and was getting progressively worse. We were pretty much unable to open it some days last winter. The salesperson that came out was friendly and well-informed. He went through all of our options and we decided on both a new front door and a new sliding glass door to the patio. The front door had many options that we went through which included the style of the door, the inside and outside colors and the style of the windows on either side of the door. He provided us with a quote which we accepted and he gave us what turned out to be a very accurate timeframe of when the doors would be installed. As we waited for the doors to be installed, Bee Window kept us apprised of where we were in the process and we worked out a couple areas in which there were questions. Installation day was scheduled and the installers arrived on time. It took a few hours for both doors to be installed. Before leaving, the installer guided me through opening and locking both doors and answered any questions that I had. They did a great job cleaning up the mess, both inside and outside of the house. The only negative I had with the entire process is that I felt that the price was a bit high. But after having the doors, and especially the new front door, I am more satisfied with this purchase than any other home improvement purchase I have made over the past 20+ years. The door is fantastic -- it closes properly and keeps the sound out and has zero gaps and looks absolutely beautiful."

"I called Steel City and scheduled an appointment for an estimate on the doors.  Easy peasy. Bob came out (he was EARLY...a very good sign!). I explained what I wanted, he took the measurements. We quickly went over some styles in a catalog that he had (I was rushing...had to get back to work). A few days later, I called with the type of doors I wanted and set up the installation date. As fate would have it, the day before installation, I was hospitalized. Bob and Steel City didn't miss a beat! He called to confirm installation and I informed him that I was in the hospital. After wishing me well, he said "No problem. Call me back when you're better and we'll get those doors installed".  The doors were installed about a week later. Bob came with the installer and made sure we were all clear on the installation.  He and the installer arrived on time...actually if memory serves me correctly, I believe they beat me to the house! Everything went smoothly. The installer took his lunch and came back in about a 1/2 hour...I've had workers who've gone to lunch and took forever to come back! But not this guy...came back and picked right up where he left off.  <br /> I was beyond impressed with Bob/Steel City. What I really liked & appreciated was that Bob <strong>LISTENED </strong>to what I wanted and my concerns about cost. Two other companies tried to over/up sale me, but not Bob. And I truly appreciate that. I probably could have gone with another company that cost less overall, but they were very slow in responding, didn't show up or call for the first scheduled estimate, and were late for the second appointment!  I did not have any of those problems with Steel City...they did good business from start to finish! <br />  I have more work that I need done on my home and Steel City will definitely be at the top of my list! <br />"

"Good consultation on the options and recommendations. The install had a false start and had to be rescheduled. Once with possible weather, but the second time because of a lack of planning on having the right equipment. But once it was installed it was done professionally. When the subfloor had to be replaced I thought the cost was high. Another contractor told me up front it would be $150 if the subfloor was rotted. They tried to charge me $300. We settled on $200. It was done in less than an hour and a 1x6 board. That is my only real complaint. The door is a great door and it looks and operates great. They were also quick to return (1 week) with replacement parts when the lock was defective."

"John's price was a bit higher than what Lowes would have charged (if one buys the door from Lowes, which I didn't). John responded to my phone calls promptly and arrived on time with his superclean, well-organized truck. In fact, he stopped at the Menards store to pick up the door on his way to my house as agreed on. The job took longer to complete than he expected because the door jamb on one side was a bit bent, according to John. He made wedges to recreate a flat plane so the storm door would close tightly against the jamb, although it did not close squarely. Overall it was a functionally fine job but the cosmetic flaw was visible. I don't know enough to judge whose fault it was. John cleaned up all trash and was very professional all the time. I'd hire him again and in fact recommended him to one of my neighbors for their storm door job. <br />"
