"My trees were in great need of care after having been neglected for quite a while.  The team was late getting to our house but they performed excellent work.  They left the area relatively clean considering they cut branches out of every single tree.  We also had a dead tree removed and two stumps ground.  The only concern I have is that I called after the service to ask why they had not applied any protective coating to the larger branches that had been cut off.  They returned the call and my sister answered the phone while babysitting my kids.  They tried to explain to my sister why the product had been applied to the tree and she told them that they would have to call back and speak with me.  I called back that afternoon and explained in a voice mail that the issue was not that they had used the coating, the issue was that they had not used it.  I tried calling twice more to speak with someone and my calls were not returned.  Hopefully my trees are not harmed from insects or disease considering there are so many open wounds.

"My push lawnmower wasn't working, and my grass desperately needed to be cut while I waited for the repair.  I tried to contact several lawn and landscape companies to do the job, but no one would return my calls or messages except for Dan.  I was very pleased with the prompt response to my message to him through Angie's List--I sent it on Wednesday night around 9pm and he responded within an hour to get my details.  He called me at 8am on Thursday to confirm my address and let me know that he would go look at the lawn and call me back later with an estimate.  Dan called me back at 2pm Thursday with the $38 estimate, and that he would do it either Friday or Saturday.  I had to go out of town Friday afternoon, but when I returned on Sunday, the lawn looked great!  I am so pleased with the quality of the work and the responsiveness of the company.  I will definitely consider using them again when the need arises.

"I learned of this provider via an Angie's List Big Deal.  I actually bought a 2nd Big Deal (Lawn Aeration and Overseed for $79), which has not yet been done.  Although I successfully scheduled via the Angie's message board, there was some confusion regarding the services for the target date.  Although the vendor said they would perform both the fertilizer and aeration/overseeding on the same day, that did not occur.  It took several messages over several days to determine what happened.  I couldn't tell that anything had occurred as I was looking for evidence of aeration and overseeding.  The vendor claimed that service was complete, though they apparently don't leave a flyer in the door (which would have mitigated some of my concerns).  It was only later that I was told that the two services couldn't occur on the same day and that they would do the aeration and overseeding in the fall.  I hope that this will work out as the aeration Big Deal expires on July 25, 2014.
After waiting about 10 days, I could see that the fertilization worked.  The grass looks wonderfully green -- so do the weeds.  I presume that this will be handled in a subsequent visit.  I'm looking forward to service completion.
