"Mark arrived at my Piano Studio on time and did such a high-quality job. This is the only company of several I contacted, that had the skills and knowledge to actually both stretch and clean the carpet without me having to hire professional piano movers to move my full size grand piano out of the room while the work was being completed. The carpet looks brand new, like it was just installed today. Wonderful people who do an amazing job. Highly recommend. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ~ Happy Customer"

"After going to Lowe's in Tigard (and being given the bait and switch action...you get the whole house for one price...except this and this and oh, by the way you will need to pay extra at the dump for hazardous waste because you had some animal urine on your carpet. I had taken all of that carpet up, trashed it and put Kilz Maxx down on the floor. Which works really well.) we went to Home Depot where we received a more professional approach but still weren't sure what to do. Lots of research on the internet pointed to avoiding Big Box stores so we went to Carpet Classics. Jim is extremely knowledgeable, professional, customer service oriented and easy to work with. Jim came out to do measurements, called to remind us of the install date and called after the install to see how we liked it. The installer, Don Roberts, was an ace. He did a beautiful and timely job in our home. He kept the work area as clean as possible everyday. He vacuumed as he went and made sure that he didn't track dirt in other areas of the house. He and his support person, Zack were careful with our furniture that needed to be moved. I'm kind of OCD person and his seems and edges are terrific. I only have high praise for Don and Jim."

"We dealt with Koeber's in the past when replacing bathroom flooring and were very pleased. Based on our experience, we turned to them to replace our existing 1,000 square feet of laminate and tile downstairs flooring. The business is relatively small family owned and dealing with them feels that way - everyone was very helpful in helping us decide which type of flooring best met our needs. We did not price shop - based on reviews and our previous experience, we chose what we felt was the best option for our work. On the negative side, the installation queue was 8 weeks out - not a problem for us but might be an issue if you had to have it done tomorrow. The installation took 4 days and they were able to float the flooring material over our existing floor with no transition required - even though we used a different pattern in our kitchen area. The installers (John/Kevin) were extremely polite, moved all of our furniture, worked around our PC so it did not need to be disconnected, and were extremely tidy. We are quite pleased with the flooring and our dealings with Koeber's. Shopping around might get you a better price but our chief criterion was quality and dependability - and we were not disappointed."

"They did great work and were very professional in all aspects of the job. They also referred us to a very helpful wholesale carpet dealer prior to the installation and we saved a lot of money as a result."

"After getting a few recommendations of carpet layers who wouldn't return phone calls, Mike was a breath of fresh air. Worked with us on scheduling, arranged the pickup of the new carpet from the warehouse, showed up on time, pulled up and hauled off the old carpet, scraped and cleaned the underlayment, and did a beautiful job with the installation. Polite, friendly and easy to work with -- couldn't ask for more. This was a very thick, plush carpet that would have shown any imperfections in installation, in a room with stairways intruding in two places and a side nook. Not a simple job. The result was perfect. Would use him again in a heartbeat."

"Norman Jensen arrived promptly and cleaned the carpets quickly and professionally. He didn't try to up sell me on products like other carpet cleaning companies have done in the past. His spot treatment on pet stains worked well. I was very pleased with the result, especially after paying more than twice as much a year or so ago for another home."

"I liked the fact that I could go to the flooring store he recommended, select the flooring I wanted and then have it picked up by him.  I had no way to transport something of that size.  David arrived on time for both the estimate appointment and for the installation.  The original plan was to just do the bathroom flooring, but while he was here I asked him about the vinyl in my entryway, thinking this would be a future project.  He explained that it would be more economical for me if he did it today, as a different day would require another trip charge.  He went out to his truck, found a remnant I liked and took care of the entryway right then.  I really appreciated that.  I am a bit naive in how projects like this work.  Someone less ethical might have been happy to come another day and charge me for the separate trip.  I learned a valuable lesson and was thankful for David's honesty.  As if that was not enough, he kindly replaced a few tiles around the bathroom which had come loose/come off with the pounding during the replacement of the sub flooring by a prior workman.  I am 100% satisfied and will certainly hire DJ's Floors again. <br /> <br />"

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Boring, OR

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
