He brought one small drop cloth that would not have even covered the rug he was walking across to the fireplace. However, I had covered my leather sofa and some of the area rug in front of fireplace. After he left, I found a light dusting of sooty residue on a few nearby surfaces. Not sure if the vacuum was working properly but I would recommend covering all furniture or rugs in immediate area."
