They kept things picked up as they went and removed debris each day! The onsite inspectors and crew leader made sure all the contract details were adhered to, as well as doing a final inspection of the installation to insure everything was as it should be! The job was completed on-time, with no "surprises" or upcharges. "The roof replacement was a smooth and pleasant experience. Communication and work was spot on. There has been a delay on gutter replacement due to equipment issues and employee terminations. However, the work has been completed to our satisfaction."

"Dear Anthony . It is a very rare occasion that I sit down and write a letter to anyone. Very rarely does a company meet my standards , and until now ,nobody has ever exceeded my standards. It is very rare to find a company so focused on quality and making sure your customers are completely satisfied. I am extremely thrilled with you , your workers , and your company. I was overwhelmed after the hail storm with roofing companies stopping by to get my business . I had almost 6 a week for several weeks. My roof is massive and very steep . It also had a high dollar shingle, so everyone wanted the job. I looked at Certainteeâ s website and did a dealer search. I wanted to get the best warranty for my roof so I would have zero future worries. In the top of the search was Quality Assurance roofing. You were the only Select ShingleMasterâ ¢ Roof Warranty Gold . I called and scheduled an appointment to have my roof repairs estimated. I had learned long ago from a failed roof not to go with â Storm Chasersâ . I had grown tired of the whole dishonest and fraudulent fly by night roofers schemes. I just wanted to get the best roof I could . When you showed up I was amazed how you had everything broken down to the last nail. You found things that needed replaced that all the other companies missed or just didnâ t want to do as to save money at my expense. You were extremely professional. Most of all , throughout the process you kept your word on everything. It is very rare to see anyone keep verbal agreements. I thank you for being a man of such integrity . I was amazed to watch your roofers work so hard , especially during a heat wave. Even with the heat , your roofers kept a keen eye on details and did an amazing job. My roof was 70 squares of very heavy designer IR shingles, which had to be hand carried without a lift due to how steep my roof is. If your roofers found a problem or something that could be a problem, they fixed it. My roof is absolutely beautiful and I sleep well knowing I have a roof that was installed with such attention to details .I also have the best warranty offered . I also notice how you treat your employees. It is very nice to see employees being treated well and their safety as such a big priority . I watched you bring them boxes of pizza and always made sure they hydrated. What a great group of hard working men. I know they went above and beyond for me. From the time they started to clean up , they always were considerate of my property and did an excellent job. I also wanted to thank you for fixing things that werenâ t even in our contract or agreement. I appreciate you sending a carpenter out to repair a nail pop in my drywall and to replace, caulk , and paint a rotted cedar board that was damaged. You carpenter did an amazing job on his tasks. I cant tell you how happy I was to see such a great job on the window trim board. He also was very considerate of my property and did a perfect job. Lastly I want to thank you for getting my two neighbors insurance companies to cover their roofs. They had been turned down multiple times , even with the assistance of other â ROOFINGâ companies. I told my neighbors to call you , and you scheduled a walk through with their adjusters . They were so happy that I had told them about your company. You got them the roofs they were entitled to ."

FAQs for natural slate roofing installation and replacement projects in Branson, MO

A slate roof features thin tiles of natural stone installed over a solid deck and underlayment. Formed under intense heat and pressure, slate is exceptionally durable and delivers a distinctive, high-end look. Because the material weighs far more than asphalt, most homes need added structural support before installation.

While upfront costs are higher and routine inspections are a must, many homeowners choose slate for its unmatched longevity and curb appeal.

Slate stands out for its 50- to 200-year life span, low maintenance, and classic aesthetic. It’s fire-resistant, energy-efficient, and often boosts resale value.

On the flip side, slate runs far more per square foot than asphalt, weighs up to four times as much, and demands a contractor who specializes in the material. Tiles can crack on impact, and repairs cost more because the work is slow and precise. If your budget and structure can handle it, slate delivers top-tier performance for generations.

Natural and synthetic slate aim for a premium, stone-like appearance, whereas asphalt focuses on affordability. Real slate runs $10 to $30 per square foot installed and lasts up to 200 years; synthetic slate costs $10 to $15 and tops out at 50 to 100 years.

Standard asphalt averages $3 to $8 per square foot and needs replacement every 20 to 30 years. If you want the slate look without the full price tag—or extra roof weight—synthetic is a solid middle ground.

With routine inspections and prompt repairs, a natural slate roof can last well beyond 100 years; some hard-slate installations reach the 200-year mark. Soft slate falls in the 50- to 125-year range, and synthetic products last 50 to 100 years.

Remember, flashing, fasteners, and the underlying structure may need attention sooner than the stone itself. Severe hail or fallen limbs can also shorten life span, so schedule periodic checkups with a slate-qualified roofer.

If you plan to stay in your home long term—or want a standout selling point—slate delivers strong value. Although installation costs are high, owners often recoup 60% to 70% at resale and enjoy lower replacement cycles than asphalt. The stone’s durability, energy efficiency, and timeless curb appeal also appeal to eco-conscious buyers because fewer roofs end up in landfills. Just be sure your framing can handle the weight and that you budget for occasional specialty repairs.

Skip the DIY climb if you have a slate roof. Slate may be tough against the weather, but a single misplaced step can crack a tile and create a leak path. The surface also turns slick when wet, upping the risk of injury. Professional crews use staging and hook ladders that spread weight across multiple slates, protecting both the roof and the worker. To inspect or repair slate, call a roofer who specializes in the material.
