"I'm a former home improvement contractor myself, now a stay at home dad so I am very particular about the quality of work, cleanliness and communication being done by contractors. I was very pleased with the work that the VRP team did in my home. Our oak floors had the original 1980 polyurethane that was deeply yellowed and one room where the floor was in very bad condition. The floors came out beautiful and better than I expected. I would say to anyone refinishing floors that the new waterbased poly that is used takes at least a full week or two to fully harden. Yes you can walk on it within 4 or 5 hours after they are finished but full hardening takes time. My cats scratched a couple spots but they were easily fixed with a similar waterbased poly that they used. It's been 4 weeks since our floors were finished and the poly is very hard now. In regards to price and communication, VRP Flooring had the best price of all of the contractors. I received quotes from a few companies and one other company was $800 more than VRP Flooring. I honestly feel that value and quality of their work was excellent. I know there are some people that expect perfection from contractors. I am friends with many builders and I would say unless you are a billionaire and you want perfection nothing is perfect. The billionaires that do want perfection also pay the extra double or triple the price to get perfection. I'm not saying the VRP's work wasn't excellent because it was. I am say that my home being 40 years old had floors put in by the original builder that had many defects in the would and installation. VRP Flooring did their best to rid those defects where they could. My floors truly looked awful in one of our rooms and when finished it looked as if a new floor was installed. VRP's communication was great. now a days with vmail and texting we were easily able to communicate and when issues came up we could quickly resolve them via text without having to wait for a call back. Weather did play a factor since it was very humid when our floors were done. Originally we anticipated it taking 2 days to do the work but since humidity was between 70-80% drying time was affected. the important aspect is that everything came out great. I will definitely use VRP Flooring again and will highly recommend them to anyone looking to refinish their hardwood floors. I am very happy I chose VRP Flooring and you will to if you need your floors refinished."

"I hired Aurelio to refinish my old oak stairs, carpeted at the time. After removing the carpet, we realized installing new stairs would have been the "better" option, but my budget didn't go in that direction. Aurelio and his team did their best to repair the damage and refinish the stairs. Aurelio suggested adding molding and 3/4 rounds to hide the places that couldn't be fixed, and that was a great idea. I'm sure when the project is finished (I'm having a painter paint the front faces of the stairs white), I'll be happy with the results, but I wish I had known a few things before hiring: 1) That the "material" (which wasn't included in the quote) would be grossly overpriced (I paid $1,200 for the carpet removal, repairs, sanding, staining and poly-coating, and $550 for material) 2) That the workers wouldn't wear shoe covers to keep my existing wood floors clean 3) That some wholes wouldn't be filled 4) That vertical surfaces of the stairs wouldn't be touched/fixed 4) And last but not least: That I would have NO SAY in the finish color. I wasn't shown a sample, given a color name, or called on site before the stairs were completely stained (and impossible to re-stain, I was told). The final color is about four levels lighter than my original wood floor (and the rest of my house). I understand you cannot match colors exactly, but the difference in tone and level is very noticeable. My "new" stairs are a light-ish pine-like color; my existing floors are between American Oak and Gunstock. As Aurelio puts it "When there are no lights on, you don't notice the color difference". I'm giving the company a B for the hard work done. But I learned my lesson."

"We took down an interior wall and needed the transition flooring replaced. Obviously you also need to match the sheen to the rest of the floor. Out of 6 contractors, Dee was the ONLY one to offer options that saved us money without sacrificing quality. He looked at the rest of the floors and told me that sanding them would be a waste of money and that they only needed a buff and coat. This saved us close to $1,000 and the work looks fantastic! They were on time, reliable, and courteous. I will recommend Dee to anyone who asks for a referral. Thank you for helping us remodel our home!"

Small jobs welcome
"I've got a 112 year old hose that is pretty solid, but it had a cracked floor joist and part of the flooring wasn't properly supported. I hired Kristian and his team to install a couple of lally columns to support a carrying beam and sister a couple of floor joists. Many contractors wouldn't even return my call because I wasn't looking to complete a huge remodel job, but Kristian came over, gave me a fair verbal estimate on the spot, and worked with me on timing to complete the project. Not only that, but the solution wasn't overly complicated. The job was straightforward, completed exactly as described in the time described, and there was no scope creep. If I ever have a larger need, they'll certainly be my first call. I would highly recommend K&X construction if you need any services that they offer."

"Did a great job on the floors. Was not pleased with how they prepped the house for sanding. Did not cover shelving, cabinets and appliances very well. I would suggest overseeing the covering of everything prior to sanding."
