"We were selling our house and the radon test came back high so we needed quick and effective service. The appointment was scheduled a week from our call. The technician arrived on time and helped identify the best location for the system that was both effective and as aesthetic as possible. The install went quickly and he took the time to explain how it worked and what we should look for in terms of monitoring and maintenance. Overall, it was a good experience."

"Who woulda thunk someone would have such a passion for lead testing, but this guy does! He was on time, thorough, professional, and I would definitely recommend him. He was especially good at providing an education as he went - explained what he was doing and why, explained compliance with codes and laws, lead paint usage and effects, etc. I especially appreciated that he squeezed us in since we were under a tight deadline. Aside from the lead test itself, he was a very pleasant and interesting person and I was almost sorry when the test was over, but I guess it's kind of weird to ask your lead tester if he wants to stay for coffee!"

"Our experience with Titan Lead Testing was fantastic. Dave returned my phone call promptly and was able to schedule an inspection for the next day, which was great. He showed up on time and was very personable. He did an incredibly thorough job both in testing our home and in communicating how to interpret the results. This is not our first experience with the lead abatement process, as we went through it for our apartment previously, and even so his guidance was very helpful. When it turned out we did have some lead abatement to do, he provided some leads on companies to get in touch with for removal and also collected dust samples to give us a sense of what we were dealing with. 110% recommend. <br />"

"I needed de-leading and containment done on exterior window sills, exterior front porch ceiling, and minor interior work (including one door jamb that needed scraping). I also had 8 windows I wanted to replace as part of the project, and had a particular brand and model in mind. Peter had a fair and reasonable price that he quoted me in October 2021. When he did the job in October 2022, he kept the same price he originally quoted me. I supplied the windows myself; and even though Peter had never worked with those particular windows before, he was able to install them nicely. The lead re-inspection went through without any issues. Peter also took care of any remaining issues."

FAQs for toxic lead testing projects in Bridgewater, MA

If your home was built before 1978, there’s a strong chance it contains lead-based paint. Many pre-1980 houses also contain lead in their plumbing and decorative materials, so age alone is a significant red flag. Older homes near industrial areas face an even higher risk. Because you can’t confirm lead by sight, scheduling a test is the safest way to protect your family.

In older houses, lead can lurk in painted trim, window sashes, soil around the foundation, plumbing pipes, and even vintage hardware. The metal is toxic, and children and pregnant women are most at risk. Exposure can trigger developmental delays, learning problems, and organ damage. Because the EPA links even low levels to serious health effects, test every suspected surface and address any hazards right away.

A positive test means lead is present somewhere you can touch, breathe, or disturb. The next step is a full risk assessment to map exactly where the hazard lies and outline the safest fix: encapsulation, enclosure, or full removal. Repairs start at $1,000 but can exceed $10,000 for complete elimination, so act quickly and hire certified pros to keep your family safe.

EPA lead certification proves that inspectors, risk assessors, and abatement contractors follow federal safety rules under the Renovation, Repair, and Painting (RRP) Program. The credential costs an average of $300, and certified professionals can legally test, contain, or remove lead hazards. Hiring a certified pro protects you from fines and ensures the work meets strict health standards.

Lead-based paint looks no different from any other paint, so you can’t identify it by color or sheen. Even flawless walls may hide it. If paint starts chipping, flaking, or peeling, schedule a professional test right away. Only laboratory-grade testing confirms lead and guides the safest fix for your home.
