"Original bid was $850. Somehow it ended up costing $1200. I'd rather know the price up front than be lied to. Every trip he made to the house there was a new issue that increased price. I have since spoken to a couple of installers who assured me that the items he charged me extra for should have been included at no charge and he should have known to look for them when he did the original bid. Like how thick was the existing door and the replacement door? Charging extra to replace trim that you removed? I wouldn't use him again. Which is sad. I would have paid the higher price if that's what he had quoted to begin with, but to nickel and dime at every turn seems shady and I don't want to business with that kind of businessman. The house was under contract and he knew that I had to get the job done, which he gladly took advantage of, running up the price. Don't take advantage of people. It isn't nice. Like I said, I needed the job completed, the issue wasn't the price, I would have paid the $1200, the issue was the way that the man does business. If this is the way that Wayne treated me, I shudder to think of how he would take advantage of someone else who would be easy to take advantage of, say and elderly person or someone else who was rushed. It's better to be up front and honest. The job took longer than anticipated but not excessively. I've noticed that any home improvement job seems to take longer than scheduled."

"These guys are great! I recently moved from Colorado to Arizona, and this was my first time using a moving company. The office staff was always courteous, answered all my questions, even when I called with just one question. They returned phone calls and emails promptly. The movers were punctual, professional, efficient, and personable. They didn't rush and were very careful with breakable items. Communication while traveling and upon meeting at the storage units was prompt and reliable. This is a very trustworthy and dependable company, and I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a long distance mover!"

"Glenn is a GO GETTER! He came out to do a quote theSAME DAY that I called him. I told him to come out anytime to make the repairs, because I didn't want to deal with meeting him, and they were all outside anyway. He came two days later and fixed those two things quickly and easily. The price was very reasonable, too. I have more repairs to be done, and I will DEFINITELY BE CALLING HIM AGAIN!! He was a pleasure to work with, and I very much appreciated his quick and professional handling of the repairs. Go, Glenn!"

"My project was to renovate a bath in a rental unit in Boulder. I live outside of Colorado.I solicited bids from a number of Angie's list companies. Handyman Matters (HM) came in with a competitive bid and its proposal was prompt and thorough. However, in bidding the job, HM did not actually visit the property. <br /> <br />HM encouraged me to order the materials myself through Home Depot. Mark, the owner of Handyman Matters of Boulder, Recommended to do it this way in order to avoid paying an extra 30% charge if his company purchased the materials for me. HM charges $75 to pick up the materials. I appreciated the candid advice. <br /> <br />When the worker arrived on site, he realized that the bath surround to be installed would cover a window in the bath. I had known this, but was nonetheless inclined to seal the window and cover it behind the surround. But Mark made a persuasive argument to return the surround to HD and exchange it for ceramic tile which would preserve the window. He offered to do the job for no additional labor cost. I accepted the offer. <br /> <br />After demolition started , unexpectedly more sub-floor as well as the window framing had to replaced because of water damage. The worker on the job also informed me that the new tub had some scratches on it. He was good about directly communicating with me, sending photos when issues arose. The HM office was likewise prompt to inform me of extra charges as a result of the unexpected repairs. <br /> <br />The work was completed in week. The workmanship was excellent and my tenants were delighted, even though they had to use the other bathroom in the house for a week. I was a little disappointed at the cleanup. Cartons were left in the living room and I had to call HM to get them removed, even though that was promised by the tradesman doing the job. Moreover, although Mark assured me that HM would move the Bagster with the construction waste close enough to the street so that Waste Mangement could retrieve it, in fact the tradesman phoned my tenant, who had a truck, and asked him to tow the Bagster closer to the street. My tenant ended up moving the Bagster at the request of the tradesman. HM can do better than this. <br /> <br /> Despite these late lapses, overall the job was well done. <br /> <br />Charles Martin <br />Arlington, VA. <br /> <br />"

"We had a couple of contractors look at the door and they said it would require tearing out the dry wall to expose the guides and rollers. Ron said he thought he could repair it withot a major effort. When we first called him he aswered the phone from a job site and had us call back to leave contact info. He came out to look at the job two days after we contacted him and scheduled to come out early the next week. His estimate was for $260. He said he always wanted to estimate high and only charge what was required. He showed up a few minutes early and repaired the door without a problem. His actual charge was $75. <br />"

"James Sutton was a pleasure to work with and he did an excellent job. First of all, he called us back, promptly. He always returned our calls right away and answered all of our questions. We began with a small bathroom remodel and had James build a new laminate counter top with integrated sink for the vanity. We had seen a sample of his work in a kitchen and bath cabinet shop and really liked how the sink was integrated with a laminate counter top. The counter top and integrated sink are wonderful and look great. There was some project scope creep when he started on the new tile back splash, we asked if he could replace the wood shelf with tile in the window box in the bedroom. He was more than gracious about this side project. When the wood shelf came out we discovered there was nothing under the wood but framing and insulation. James installed an underlayment and backing material and the tile and only passed on the cost for the backing material. We were so pleased with his work we asked him to give us an estimate for replacing the laminate on the kitchen counter tops. The house is 21 years old and the laminate was beginning to show some wear, and it was a little dated. The new laminate in the kitchen looks great and so does the new tile work. James is a professional and he was very respectful and considerate with us and our home. He cleaned up the job site every evening took great care to keep dust to a minimum in our home. James does a great job at a reasonable price. I already have another project in mind and I will hire James again."
