"We have worked with other carpet stores over the years and are fortunate to <br /> have found Carpet Carousel on Angie’s List. We needed to recarpet the upstairs <br /> study which is reached through a “floating” spiral staircase. Both the study <br /> and the treads of the staircase had to use the same material. <br /> <br /> We first had a store we were familiar with take a look. They initially <br /> weren’t sure how they would carpet the treads of the spiral staircase or how <br /> they would move the furniture to carpet the study. I then found Carpet Carousel <br /> on Angie’s List and Shawn came over. He immediately figured how to carpet the <br /> treads and move the furniture. We then visited their show room where Shawn <br /> showed us a number of samples that could work. We took a few with us and made a <br /> decision. In the meantime, we got a quote from the other carpet store and <br /> nearly fell over – it was just about twice the price of Carpet Carousel. <br /> <br /> The installation was excellent. The two men doing the job were punctual <br /> and knew exactly what to do. After the job was done, the area was vacuumed and <br /> the furniture replaced. I highly recommend Carpet Carousel and only wish I had <br /> known about them years ago. <br />"

"I left a message, and Mike Tran quickly called me back.  His workload was about 1 week out, which worked for me.  He came over the next day to review the interior and provide a quote.  He emailed me the quote which ended up matching up to the final invoice.  The work took about a week, and the result was great.  The floor installation was tightly done, and the white oak used looks beautiful.  The refinishing and the installation left no dust.  I'm very happy, and would recommend using Universal Hardwood. <br />"

"I'll start off with a little back story. I originally wanted to purchase from a big box store, but learned that the install process was hit or miss. Some people liked their install experience, others did not. Because of this, I decided to shop local and found Framingham Carpet via Angie's list. Carol and Chuck were excellent to work with. Carol helped match the color we wanted for the install. Turns out it was the same manufacturer as the big box store. A couple days later, Chuck came out to measure carpet, answer questions, and provide a quote on the spot. After purchasing we scheduled the install (about two weeks later). The installers showed up right on-time. They were friendly and explained everything they were going to do and did an excellent job. They left the house as clean as it was before the install. Next time I need to purchase flooring, I will be visiting Framingham Carpet Center!"

"I have used this company twice to do my carpets and was amazed at how they can get the carpets so clean. I had stains from 5 plus years ago that are now gone. Carpet is 20 years old and looks amazing. Craig did my carpets this time on 12-4-17 and did an awesome job. Very friendly and personable. For the price paid its definitely worth the money. Will use again and try a different service they offer. Thanks again for making my home clean in time for the holidays."

"I purchased remnants to recarpet two bedrooms in a rental property in Reading. The price was reasonable and the service was outstanding. Village Carpet was able to hold the carpet until I was ready for it as some minor construction was being performed and I was not ready for the carpet to be installed. After I scheduled it, the installation was prompt, complete, and professional."

"The sales experience was very good--they were informed and suggested options that were suitable for my needs. The reason I did not give them an "A" was that the quality of the installation was not as good as I expected. The installer (I believe) is an independent contractor. He did a good job of explaining the options for how the carpet could be installed, but he was sloppy on fitting the carpet to the lower steps which are slightly curved. I pointed this out and asked him to improve the fit, which he did--sort of--but now that corner of the installation has come loose and I will have to staple or tack it into place myself. My advice--check the installation very carefully."

"We were happy with our experience from start to finish. Susie in the showroom was very pleasant and helpful. She encouraged us to take carpet samples home. This helped a great deal with our making a choice we are happy with. <br /> Steve, who came to our home to measure for installation, was also pleasant and professional. He did an excellent and accurate job. <br /> Phil, who came to install the carpeting, was very pleasant, professional and exacting with the installation. He took great care with measuring so everything is perfect. <br /> Our carpeting looks beautiful and we have already had many compliments. <br /> All in all, we are very happy with our experience with Rug Merchant. We would happily recommend them. <br /> <br /> <br />"

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Brookline Village, MA

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
