"J&R Chavez Landscaping, LLC did an incredible job repairing the grouting and sealing a large natural flagstone patio at our home. It was in very poor condition and when his team left it looked better than new! His team was also able to repair and rebuild the interior supports under the floor of the patio. The workmen were excellent, came on time and worked over three days 8-5 every day. They were courteous and highly skilled in stone work. The price was very reasonable as well."

"We wanted to add landscape lighting to our front and back yard. Bill came out and looked at what we had (an old system in the front yard with old halogen lights but a working transformer in the front yard and nothing in the back. He was extremely professional, and at my request worked to update and incorporate what I already had with new LED lighting. He was super easy to work with, knows his stuff and focused on doing a great job for the customer. I told him I didn't want to spend a fortune and he came up with a plan. Once we got everything up I wanted to make some tweaks and additions. He was super accommodating and responsive. He genuinely wanted to make sure I was happy with the finished product. Great experience. I got a few quotes from top Angie's list (and one other contractor) and Outdoor Illumination wasn't the cheapest or the most expensive but they are probably the best!"

"I selected J&G landscaping based on the reviews listed on Angie's List as well as a recommendation from a close friend that had previously used their services. Our initial meeting with Jeff Potter (Landscaping Designer) went very well as we articulated our requirements to improve the hardscape and landscaping of our large corner lot. Jeff was able to provide us a detailed plan to replace the front brick walkway and brick patio with TechoBloc Pavers. The design included some very creative and innovative designs, improved the drainage by elevating the patio and inserting buried drain pipes and some major improvements in the landscaping adjacent to the walkway and patio. J&G was able to reduce landscaping costs by transplanting numerous bushes and perennials that were removed during the installation of the hardscape. The work took a total of five days which was scheduled by Greg Potter around our vacation schedule. We were also very impressed with J&G's timely and professional response to correct some minor deficiencies we noted and some changes we requested during the install. They definitely exceeded our expectations when the work was completed. We love it!! Our neighbors are very jealous!!! We look forward to working with J&G Landscaping on our next project."

"When we learned our new house had aluminum wiring (as many do in Olney, MD), I researched it and read the recommendations of the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). Many electricians (even our inspector said that it was fine to use Ideal-65 "purple wire nuts" but many scientific studies and fire inspections have found that they often melt and cause fires. The next step up are Colar Devices, but they're not available for any GFI circuits, so that's only a partial solution. AlumiConn wire lug connectors are good, but they're supposed to be checked (as in check every outlet, switch and light fixture) every year. I know we're not going to do that. Cop-Alum is expensive, but it's the only permanent fix that is approved by the Consumer Product Safety Commission. It's a cold weld that makes an airtight seal, but the tool is only leased to 10 electricians in Maryland. Hawkins had the best reputation and a reasonable quote. Richard Brewer spent about a week in our new house and sent texts and emails each day to cover what he did. He showed me half-melted wire nuts, and we went over some crazy wiring that the previous homeowner did themselves. He was great at answering questions and offered a few discounts (Angie's List, no furniture for him to move, we removed drop ceiling panels so he had easy access). It was a big expensive job, but it's total peace of mind for our family and eventually when we go to sell the house."
