"Andy, the owner of Allen Construction, was very personable, timely, and professional during the process of providing an estimate for replacing our roof.  We did experience a significant delay from the time the estimate was provided to the start date of the work, but Andy explained the delay was due to unforeseen events (i.e. health concerns, death of family members) experienced by members of the construction team.  Because the project was being completed more for aesthetic reasons than due to leaks, etc. and because Allen Construction came so highly recommended, we waited patiently for the job to be started.  We are so glad we did!  The crew members who worked on our house were highly competent and extremely professional.  They worked efficiently, were respectful of our property, and did a marvelous job ensuring all materials were picked up and the lawn decor they moved was placed back in the original location.  Also, the cost of the project was much lower than other "bigger" named roofing companies in the area, yet we did not need to sacrifice quality for the lower price. <br> <br>Allen Construction did such a fantastic job that we now have a list of additional projects we plan to ask them to complete!"

"I never thought Tony would be able to finish everything in four hours, but he did! I had a ceiling fan removed from my living room with a high vaulted ceiling and installed in my kitchen and then Tony installed a new ceiling fan in the LR. He assembled a frame for a daybed ansd assembled and hung a cabinet in the bathroom. He also put together  the "Little Giant" ladder I had just received. <br>"

"The first unit was delivered in a timely manner. However, the carrier did not adhere to the shippers warnings about product fragility and the unit was received in a damaged state. The unit was sent back to Classic Copperworks for repair.  The repair was treated as a priority by Mr. Threadgill, who had the unit shipped back to me in three weeks. It arrived in good condition that time. <br /> Mr Threadgill was very helpful in providing support in order to finish our project. He even had a caulking product sent to us in order to help with flashing the unit. That meant alot. <br /> I am not a professional contractor, but was able to install the unit myself with his support. However, my profession does provide me the opportunity to serve the public and as such, I feel that I am more than qualified in commenting on good service. While Classic Copperworks may not be the cheapest provider of goods and services, they stand behind their product and provide great support. It requiress a "leap of faith" to order an expensive unit from an out-of-state provider with no prior mutual history, but I can attest to my complete satisfaction. <br /> WRS <br /> <br />"

"We are doing a major remodel on our house. We shopped around for a suitable antique looking but modern kitchen. We decided upon granite countertops, and almond brush stained cabinets. We were recommended from a friend to use Tom to do the installation. Tom installed all of the cabinets and countertops. He was top notched and very detailed oriented. Everything was per the layout, and he brought any concerns up about the look of the final assembly to our attention to ensure it would meet our expectation. The walls on our old house varied by 1/2and quot; along the back of the counter. Rather than leaving a gap, Tom seamlessly fit the granite backsplashes to blend right into the wall. <br /> He also helped design and build a custom cabinet to fit in the corner that we could not purchase with the set. <br /> He did such excellent work, we asked Tom to do the trim work on the entire house. I don't have total lengths of trim, but it was on the order of about a 3000 feet of trim. He has such an eye for detail that he noticed that we bought two very similar chair rail trims (poplar vs pine), and the profile did not match up between the two (about 1/32and quot; off). I had to do a triple take to tell the difference. He did final touch up, and the house has never looked better. <br /> Finally, he worked on a custom oak stained and varnished wrapped column. <br /> Tom works efficiently and without supervision. He's honest and helpful, and wants the work to look its best. <br /> All around, I would recommend Tom for any remodel job. <br />"

"My old unlocked mailbox was beat up by vandals and left on the ground - broken and mis-shapened - and my mail missing! So, I looked up mailboxes in my community and found 'LOCKING MAILBOXES' in Paradise. The owner, James Richards, came out to my home that day to take a look. He then helped me choose the right secure locking curbside mailbox that fit my home and property needs. I bought the Columbia Mailbox with matching post which was $200 plus shipping and an additional installation cost of $50. It took just a few days and he was ready to install my mailbox - and what a difference it made! It improved the curb appeal of my home but more importantly, I felt protected from theft that my mail and packages will be secure, even if I go away for a few days. All the secure mailboxes are reasonably priced and crafted in the USA. Mr. Richards was prompt, courteous, knowledgeable and friendly! I would defiantly recommend LOCKING MAILBOXES! It was a pleasure doing business with him!"

FAQs for handyman service projects in Brownsville, MN

Winterizing shields your home’s structure and key systems from snow, ice, and freezing temperatures. By sealing drafts and tuning up heaters, you cut energy waste, extend the life of appliances and windows, and avoid surprise repair bills. A small up-front investment keeps rooms cozy and protects the value of your biggest asset all winter long.

Yes, it’s important to prepare your sprinkler system for the winter. Blowing out the lines and insulating above-ground parts keeps valves and pipes from splitting when temperatures drop. A quick winterization visit costs far less than repairing burst components in spring, and it ensures your lawn--and your wallet--stay in good shape once the thaw hits.

A full home winterization plan goes beyond sealing windows and pipes. You might schedule a home energy audit, cover outdoor furniture, service the snowblower, swap smoke-detector batteries, add outlet gaskets, and hang storm doors. Each step beefs up your home’s protection, cuts drafts, and lowers the chance of costly cold-weather damage.
