"Larry and his crew were truly fabulous and extremely professional to work with every single day for the entire job (5 days). They showed up on time every day and worked solidly through till the end of the day. They didn't quit until the everything was done.

Larry was always available whenever I had any questions or concerns. He was professional but easy to get along with and always happy. I was nervous about the whole job as I didn't feel like I had communicated my vision or what I wanted to happen. At our initial meeting, Larry was receptive to our ideas but also understood that we were open to ideas and suggestions that he might provide. We had met with other contractors and they had provided us with comparable quotes to Larry's. However, those quotes were exactly what we had communicated with no suggestions for improvements or other options. We had some ideas of what we wanted for an end result, but no real clear details. Larry was able to bring his 40+ years of experience and knowledge to the table and guide us in the right direction and am I ever glad he did. There's a lot to be said for experience. The end result is incredible and even now, 3 months later, we still step outside andare amazed with the transformation of our backyard. We LOVE it. I couldn't be happier with the final product.

After the complete demolition of the backyard, Larry's crew installed patio pavers. The quality with which the pavers were installed is comparable to what you would find on a high-traffic commercial site. All of the proper steps were followed and the necessary layers (i.e.: road base, sand) installed. In addition to the pavers, we had three beautiful raised planters installed, along with the necessary sprinkler system. We had two steps installed off the house as well and I was really concerned with them being too small and I wanted to make sure that my concerns were heard and heeded. Both Larry and his crew reassured me that they understood what I wanted and they nailed it. They built exactly what I wanted.

Anytime I had a concern with the way something was going, Larry was receptive and positive about my feedback and any concerns were immediately addressed. As well, Larry made sure that at the end of the job that we went through everything together and addressed any and all concerns. As with any major job, little things happen. For instance, some of the stucco on the side of our house was scratched and broken when the flagstones were moved and one of the fence boards was broken. Larry addressed those two specific things immediately and fixed them himself, as well as any other problems. I hesitate to even call them problems, as they were dealt with so fast and so professionally, that I never felt that they even escalated to a and quot;problem statusand quot;.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Larry and his crew for any sort of paver work, or other work, you are considering. They are professional, honest, hard-working and friendly. They are truly a great local company that I am proud to have worked with."

"This is our second time working w/Cedric (Sonny) and we are just as happy w/our results as the first time we worked w/ him a few years ago. I was delighted when he agreed to be our landscape architect again. Cedric is very easy to work with. He is honest, communicative, and always inspecting both the work in progress and the finished work, to ensure he is satisfied w/it. Cedric also always followed up w/us to make sure we were happy with how the project was progressing as well as the end results. Additionally, he is a good listener and his ideas are very innovative. Cedric's crews are kind, timely, hard-working, trustworthy, detail oriented and do a great job cleaning up. For our current project, we hired Cedric and crews to remove a brick patio and brick walkway from the front of our house. Cedric's crews did the demolition, poured a new sand-finished front walkway, built a stucco and brick wall where the brick patio used to be, planted a tree and installed walkway lighting. The results are fantastic and we've gotten several compliments from our neighbors on how nice our front yard looks. We spent approximately $36K. for this job. Next Spring Cedric and crews will return to do more landscaping in the front yard and along the front walkway as well as some landscaping in our side / backyard. I wouldn't trust our landscape design projects to anyone else but Cedric....he's that good!"

"RNB came out with several samples of all of the artificial turfs that they can install, talked thru the pros, cons and cost differences of turf vs natural grass. Ultimately we decided on their Natural 90 turf for our backyard landscaping. They were very flexible when making changes to the design and quick to respond with the updates and any change in pricing. Once locked in the work was done on time and they showed up exactly when they said they would. Couldn’t be happier with the look and feel of the turf for our kids and dogs to enjoy for years to come!"

"My husband and I decided to break up our whole yard (front and back) into multiple phases. The back yard was completed first (last year) as it was in the worst condition - we now have and enjoyable place to hang out and Amy kept our dogs in mind when designing the space for grass. We did have one plant not survive the winter (the other two juniper trees in beside it did just fine) but it fell under the 1 year warranty and they replaced it when the front yard was done this past May. The actual landscaping crew can really make the job and they were hardworking and pleasant to be around.  

The front yard was just finished and the retaining wall is wonderful! The design was able to keep an existing tree in place and mixed in a variety of materials (rocks, mulch, a variety of plants) and blends in nicely with the design of the back yard. We included the sprinkler system in the front as well and the whole job took much less time than I anticipated. The crew (I think one guy was actually on the team from the back yard, too) was also very hardworking and pleasant to be around. They kept everything as clean as possible during the whole process. Some compost was even thrown in the back yard and the grass sure is green now!

The front office staff is very willing to work with special requests and answer all questions. The company does want to make sure you are happy.

"FIRST AND FOREMOST, I WOULD ABSOLUTELY WORK WITH DAVID AGAIN IF THE OPPORTUNITY ARISES. We had a need to install a small patio in our backyard and some sod, so while we were researching for local landscapers in our area, Nyumbani Landscaping showed up with overwhelmingly positive reviews. We reached out, and by the next day, he was ready to take measurements and send us an estimate. While he was in our yard, we took the opportunity to ask about the rampant volunteer trees along our fence and asked for an estimate on their removal as well. In the end, we decided to do just the patio and tree removal and skipped on the sod due to budgeting constraints. The process was a bit shaky, unfortunately. Do to some unforeseen circumstances, David was able to trim down all of the trees in our yard, but could not clean up and remove all of the branches left in the yard until he was able to resolve things on our end. This wasn't a problem as he pledged to come back as soon as his issues were resolved. Our appreciation for David rose to a new level when we started to talk about the patio. Due to his situation, he wasn't able to work on the patio immediately, but with the utmost respect for our time, he consulted with another landscaping friend of his and asked for him and his crew to do the work for the same price he gave us. Though we weren't in any rush, we ultimately decided to go with his recommendation and had the patio installed by his friend. A couple of weeks had passed and David was finally able to come back to finish up yard clean up. It took two days (yep, there were a lot of trees that were cut), but the majority of the trees were picked up and the yard was mostly clean. There was still one more truck load of branches in our yard that he did not pick up. Pros: - David is the epitome of the American dream. A lot of his reviews mentioned "honest work," and that's the best way to describe our partnership. His company is himself and his family, no other crew. He uses his own personal truck and rents/owns his own equipment. He speaks candidly and is responsive and honest. - The estimate we got from him was very fair, considering the amount of work requested. We did ask for a few more estimates on other projects we wanted, but due to our budget, we were not able to do them. - Despite some personal issues that needed to be addressed on his end, he stayed in contact and had our time in his best interest, ensuring that we got what we wanted despite him getting another crew to do it and get the money. - I cannot stress enough the importance of "honest work" here. In my experience, any time I ask larger companies of various trades for some help, there's a lot of sales pitches, exaggeration, and overall "just give me your money" vibes. Not once did I feel that way with David. It felt like a brother helping another brother, and that's the kind of work I love to support. Cons: - The only thing I am not satisfied with is the amount of trash and leftover branches that were left in my yard. Lots of water bottles, some Wendy's cups, a little jar of chainsaw oil, and lots of beer cans (!) were not cleaned up. There was also a lot of branches left over that were not cleaned, about a 10'x16' area of branches. I've been cleaning it all up slowly with our somewhat small compost bin. Overall, David was incredibly friendly and personable, honest, and hard working. He was very meticulous throughout the entire process, and even came by to check in on the other crew's patio work to ensure that it was to his standards. Could the clean up been done better? Yes, and by all means, you can consider the job not completed due to the left over branches. That being said, I very much enjoyed my partnership with David and his honesty and work ethic are something that I value very much. If the opportunity arises, he will be the very first person I contact, and of course, we'll make sure to get the clean-up right the next time. Thank you, David, for your hard work!"
