"Tommy and his team did a great job on our chimney! Once it finally stopped raining Tommy and his crew got to work and finished in a reasonable amount of time. Anytime I texted Tommy he would respond answering any questions I had. His work was top notch, rebuilt the crown (which looks bomb proof) and cut out the brick mortar out down to the roof line. Tuck pointed and painted my chimney. Not single drop of water has come in since he finished his work. They cleaned up all materials afterwards too! Really pleased that we hired Tommy Mattingly Masonry, I will be using him again in the future for any of my masonry needs."

"It was a very pleasant experience! I called one day and the owner Nick Jackson called me back that day. He came the next day ! Our roof had a small leak so he accessed my roof and noticed a lot of hail damage. At that Point he talked me through how to file a claim with my insurance company . Once the adjuster scheduled an appt to come out , Nick met with him and they both figured out what needed to be replaced. We received an insurance check shortly after that and Nick scheduled his crew. They were fast , professional and installed an excellent roof. It was a very easy painless operation. I would highly recommend them !"

"The actual service was awesome and the guys doing the work were courteous and amazing! We are definitely going to recommend them to our neighbors who are experiencing the same settling issues with their concrete. We did, however, have a rough go at scheduling and communication from the office could be improved. The work was originally scheduled for a Tuesday but the prior job ran over. That first week communication was great but then we didn’t hear anything for 7 days and had to call them to figure out when the work was being rescheduled for."

It's been good. I pay about $500 a year so anything that is broken in my house I pay $70 for the visit and they come and fix it. They will come back if it doesn't work and if the appliance, heating system or whatever is broken they will replace it with a new one at no cost so for someone with an older house it is a pretty good deal. I get whoever they send. We had the person out before that they last sent and they actually had trouble. It was, like, two years in a row we lost the coolant. There was a leak in the system somewhere so they came back once and recharged it again. The last time they were there they put something in the system that seals leaks and it worked so we were very satisfied the last time. But the time before we weren't. They honor their agreement, you pay the $70 and it gets either fixed or replaced. If what they do doesn't work I call them again they come back and service it again at no charge; there is only one charge per problem. We have been with them for several years. They were about the same price as our previous home warranty company although their prices have increased over the last three or four years, a little m bit more than we expected, but I can't complain about the service. The home warranty covers most major appliances and materials in our house. The people that they have are normally very trustworthy. Their responsiveness  is very good. They tell you that you will receive a call from someone and they give you the name. They say they will call me back within 48 hours unless is it is an emergency which will be dispatched right away  If you have an emergency you can get to somebody right away. They call back and if I am gone I call them back.

FAQs for heating cable for roof installation projects in Burgin, KY

A typical heat cable uses 5 watts per foot, regardless of the outside temperature. So, if your cable is 100 feet long, it uses 500 watts per hour. Expect to pay an additional $40 to $200 or more per month on your electricity bill. Be sure to turn manual cables off in the summer when you don't need them.

To install heat tape on your roof, place it along the lower edge in a precise zig-zag pattern to maximize coverage and heat distribution. Professional installers secure the tape with specialized clips that attach firmly to your shingles. This method ensures even heat distribution to effectively melt ice and snow while maintaining your roof's integrity during severe winter conditions.

Choosing between heated gutters and roof heating cables usually comes down to budget, appearance, and performance. Heated gutters cost less to install and blend seamlessly with your home’s exterior, making them a discreet, lower-cost option for preventing ice dams. Roof heating cables deliver more customizable and powerful heat along roof edges to handle heavy snow and ice, but they require more material and labor, increasing your upfront investment. Evaluate your roof design, winter weather demands, and energy budget to select the system that works best for your property.

Roof heating cables prevent ice dams by melting snow and stopping ice buildup at the roof edge. Ice damming occurs when melting snow refreezes on a cold roof—often right above the gutter line—and blocks water from draining, which can force moisture under shingles into your home. Heating cables maintain a warm channel that clears ice dams as soon as they form and protects your roof from water damage and structural issues.

Roof heating cables last between two and ten years before replacement is needed, wearing out faster than your roof itself. Their lifespan depends on climate severity, cable type, and exposure to physical damage. Consistent inspections and preventative maintenance—such as clearing debris, tightening clips, and checking electrical connections—can extend their service life and ensure reliable snow and ice protection each winter.

To safely remove snow from your roof, start with a specially designed roof rake, standing firmly on the ground and pulling snow downhill rather than climbing onto the roof. You can also apply calcium chloride ice melt to break up stubborn ice or gently use a secured rope from a safe vantage point.

Keep in mind that large snow slabs can weigh hundreds of pounds and pose a serious fall risk. If conditions are hazardous or you lack the right equipment, hire a professional to protect your safety and your roof’s integrity.
