"I needed alot of work and repairs done in my house. I called and met with Harvey about what I wanted to be done in my home, and two days later, the work was being conducted on my house. The significant items were that I needed new basement steps, and Harvey and his crew rebuilt new the steps and railings. I needed my kitchen refreshed and desperately needed a new kitchen floor. I had the kitchen, dining room, lower and upper hallways, and living room painted. I had my windows corked from the inside, and the outside and some of the windows were also repaired. Harvey and his men were very professional, polite, and extremely hardworking. They showed up every day and on time and worked extremely hard. "We've worked with Monk's previously, several years ago, for a whole-house exterior house painting job. We knew we wanted to work with them again, for a needed front porch repair. Kurt Becker visited, discussed the job with me, and was able to email me an detailed estimate right away. He was willing to price out a few variations on the project, which was helpful. After we decided on the project details, the crew were able to begin the following week, and wrap it all up within a few days. We had porch corner posts replaced, some of the flooring and ceiling boards replaced, and a new railing built and installed. We also asked them to replace the exterior trim on 2 second story windows. They repainted the new porch wood and front steps, to match the house colors. It's always great to work with the Monk's crews. They are professional, capable and clean everything up at the end of each work day. There is always a crew manager, in this case, Huibel, who is on site to discuss daily progress, and answer questions. It's been a pleasure to have them work here. I recommend them."

"We recently replaced the wood floors in our home and were looking to replace two existing staircase railings. We contacted several local contractors including Wood Stairs 4U. When Rod came to the house he was able to quickly understand what we wanted to do and made a few excellent recommendations based on the look of our house and our desire for a traditional look. Within a few days we had a competitive quote. I tend to do a fair amount of research about home projects and had several questions which Rod answered quickly and completely. When it was time to do the install, Rod told us it would take 4-5 days including applying a custom stain. He showed up on time and worked non-stop each of the days he was here. A few times, the shape of our staircase presented a challenge. In each case, Rod presented the options and made a recommendation. In the one case where I was not able to make a choice, he created a model using the old railings so that I could visualize the option. This took about an hour and Rod did it without any complaints. One of the reasons that we hired Rod was his ability to match the color of the new floor. We were not disappointed. The railings are beautiful and we are very happy. Would we recommend Rod? "Matt Ayers and his crew did an excellent job gutting a 40-year-old bathroom and replacing it with a new shower, toilet, countertops, sinks, flooring and tiles. They always showed up when expected, worked around my schedule, were friendly, courteous and professional, and did quality work. All drop cloths, supplies and tools were removed from the job area each day and stowed away. A few of the workers did not have strong English, but they are very good at using smartphone translation software and there were no communication problems at all. Matt visited or followed up by phone or email on an ongoing basis. The only minor hitch was that the external tiling vendor sent a box of slightly warped shower tiles. This was corrected immediately with no inconvenience or added cost to me. The job quote was a bit of sticker shock initially but over time I realized you get what you pay for, especially after hearing about negative experiences friends have had with other home remodelers. Overall, very happy."
