"The person performing the service had to make several trips because one of the "new" parts turned out to be faulty. I found both Complete Protection and their local repair contractor to be both very responsive and totally professional at every stage of the repair process."

"Repair Clinic sent me a water intake valve that had some scuff marks and an unnecessary fixture (which I thought nothing of, assuming it had been removed from a new dishwasher). When the part did not fix my dishwasher's issue, I ordered a circulation pump, which also failed to fix the issue, so I decided to return both parts. Repair Clinic blamed me for the scuff marks and extra fixture, which is unacceptable. They referenced their return policy which states that parts which have been installed cannot be returned, and denied me any form of refund. For all I know, the water intake valve was defective, and I have no recourse. Don't put any stock in the "No-Hassle 365-Day Returns" they proudly tout on their homepage. Instead, expect finger-pointing and uncaring dismissal. You are better off with one of their many competitors."

"I had a bad computer board in my oven. they said they would not cover it because they found a roach. This is Florida we have some roaches. i do not have a bug problem. It has nothing to do with a bad computer board. This company looks for a way to deny claims. i had one other claim and they tried to deny it as well. Save yourself some agravation and stay away. They must post their own positive reviews. They took my $65.00 fee and did nothing"

"Avoid this company unless you want to pay over $500 for someone to unplug an appliance and leave. I called this plumber to investigate a leak reported by a neighbor for my tenant?s unit. Here is exactly what $565.47 gets you with this business: The "Work": The plumber pressed a button on the dishwasher, declared it was leaking, and said I needed a new one. Their "remedy" listed on the invoice was literally: "Unplugged dishwasher to prevent further leakage." * The Pricing Trap: I was charged "after-hours" rates despite the team being dispatched at 3:05 PM. Because they arrived after 3:30 PM, they triggered a massive surcharge. Hidden Fees: Even the automated message they sent regarding after-hours rates did not add up to the final $565.47 total. It?s clear this company relies on getting your credit card number upfront to overcharge for trivial tasks. They aren?t solving problems; they are exploiting urgent situations. Advice to others: If you value your money, call literally anyo"

"I had a terrible experience with PHD, LLC plumbing service. I called them when I had an on-demand water heater that was not working. They could not figure out the problem! After 3 visits and $ 950 of charges we discovered it was merely a propane gas supply line was undersized, which I tried to suggest to them initially! Likely a $ 250 fix at most! I cannot recommend this business. They are unqualified to do the job. They are unprofessional, incompetent, and arrogantly rude!!!"

FAQs for plumbing installation for a remodel or addition projects in Calexico, CA

Adding bathroom plumbing to a detached garage starts with the basic line installation cost of $900 to $1,300. On top of this base expense, you'll need to budget for each fixture. A toilet costs  $250 to $550, sinks cost $150 to $800, and a shower or bathtub costs $400 to $1,900. The project will also require ventilation, moisture-resistant materials, and possibly electrical work. Remember that these costs reflect only the plumbing aspects—additional construction, finishing, and permitting expenses will apply to complete a functional bathroom space.

While certain aspects of garage renovation might be suitable for DIY enthusiasts, plumbing installation requires professional expertise. Connecting to water and sewer systems demands specialized knowledge and equipment, and improper installation can result in severe water damage, code violations, and potential health hazards. Most municipalities require permits for plumbing modifications, and these often stipulate that licensed professionals must perform work. Consider limiting your involvement to simpler tasks like painting or basic finishing work.

The timeframe for adding plumbing to a detached garage spans one to three days for the actual plumbing work. However, this represents only the active installation period. The complete project timeline must account for planning, obtaining permits (which can take weeks depending on your locality), coordinating multiple contractors if needed, and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise during installation. Weather conditions can also impact excavation and outdoor connection work.

Adding plumbing to a detached garage will likely increase your property taxes. Tax assessors consider plumbing an improvement that enhances property value and functionality. The specific tax impact varies by location and project scope. Converting a garage into living space with plumbing facilities can trigger significant reassessment in many jurisdictions. Before proceeding with your project, consult your local tax assessor's office to understand the potential tax implications and factor this ongoing expense into your decision-making process.
