"Great service! Steve called prior to arriving at the motger-in-laws home - he was right on time. Professional introduction and walk through to discuss job. He pretreated stains, and roto machined high traffic areas. The whole process took only 1 1/2 hours. Steve is a wizard with carpet! Great job! Thanks!"

"I was impressed with Trevon and his team of installers yesterday, and noticed immediately how well they work together as a team. They were all very efficient, and I noticed that everyone really pulled their own weight and worked hard (which you don’t always see with installation teams). In addition, they were friendly and patient with me as a homeowner going through my first carpet installation experience. I could see Trevon's 20 years of experience working at Carpet One really shining through with the way he manages his team and handles clients. I’m grateful for Robert, too, coming to my house to measure the day after I visited the store, getting me the estimate that afternoon after the measuring, and keeping things moving. He sensed that I was ready to move on this project and simplified practical choices for me and my needs (budget, time frame, cat owner, etc.), which helped a lot. He was always sensitive to the price point I needed, and I never felt he was trying to talk me into spending more money than makes sense for my house’s value. I really appreciated the feeling of simplification, because projects like this can be overwhelming to me as a homeowner sometimes. Robert really understood what I needed. I also appreciate that everyone was respectful of my time, and Robert and Trevon and his team showed up exactly when they said they would show up at my house. Those kinds of things mean a lot to customers."

"The installation of the countertops went smoothly though 4 end pieces had to be added after the fact to ensure protection of drywall at the ends of the counters since the backsplash couldn't extend out to the end of the counters. These pieces were delivered and installed within 24-48 hours. Very professional!"

"I walked in the store and told the clerk what I needed and the measurements and use of the room. She asked me a couple of questions and led me over to the roles of carpet to recommend the one that she thought would work best. She also helped me pick out the best color to go with the walls. I had told them that I needed it installed that same week which they said was doable, but as luck would have it, an appointment for the following day was available due to a rescheduling by another buyer. She also suggested that I get the installer to measure the other room that will need carpet soon while he was at the house. <br /> The installer, Ashley Price, called the next day and showed up on time. The installation went quickly and smoothly and looks great. <br /> The installation cost $148.00 which included moving the furniture and hauling away the old carpet. <br /> I was very satisfied with the whole process since I hate to wait for anything! <br />"

"From the first time I walked thru the door until the job was finished today, everyone I dealt with was wonderful. Professional, polite, and friendly.  I was completely at ease and comfortable with each and every person I had contact with. If you need flooring of any kind, whether it be carpet, hardwood or any other flooring you won't be sorry you dealt with this company. They were recommended to me by a co-worker and personally I feel a recommendation is the best way to find someone. So, I highly recommend Bargain Barn Flooring Outlet."

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Camden, SC

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
