"Eric contacted me shortly after searching Angie's List. I described what I needed, a radon mitigation system, and he provided a written estimate via email. Much lower than what I expected. Eric was able to come out in a few days and install the system. Installation time was about 3 hours. No additional charges. He returned to the house three days later to retrieve the radon monitor and showed me the current reading of 1.0 pC/l, well below the 11.0 pC/l from a prior test. A formal report was emailed the same day; the avg reading was 0.8 pC/l. I highly recommend hiring Radon Fix."

"I found that the home I had just bought in December of 2023 was tested and recorded a radon level of 40 piCu/l [micrograms of radon gas in a litre of air]. The safe level recommended is to be below 4 piCu/l. This was an unfortunate set back on an expensive investment. I was very concerned with getting the radon level down to safe livable level when I contacted Radon Systems. After talking with Lucas I was somewhat assured that they could mitigate the radon gas from its current levels down to below the acceptable 4 piCu/l and maybe even exceed reading. I was worried about them not being able to accomplish this and asked Lucas the "What if" question. He assured me that they could expand the system to get there if the after action test showed the level was still to high. "We've mitigated houses with levels in the hundreds" he said. I contracted with them to start within two weeks. After the mitigation my level was recorded as 0.8 !!!!!! I am so happy and satisfied with the installation and the results. THANK YOU Lucas and David! Great to work with and lots of professional integrity. Ken"

"Out Radon did an excellent job. They were helpful on the phone before I committed. They also quoted me a lower price than anyone else, did a professional install, and then stood by their price. I am quite pleased with the whole experience and recommend them highly."

"Our radon mitigation system has been in place for 13 years. The fan started getting louder a few weeks ago. I called Ohio Radon Mitigation and spoke with Jodi, who came out the next day to let me know that the fan would need to be replaced. She gave a price of $400 and said that the technician Doug could come out early the following week to replace it. Doug actually showed up earlier than his scheduled arrival to replace the fan and had the job done in about 1/2 hour. In these days of COVID, I am very impressed with the quick response that I got from Jodi to get our fan replaced. Their pricing for the repair was reasonably also."

"We were very pleased with the radon mitigation service provided by advanced air. Setting up the initial appointment was easy and fast. The front office folks gave us very precise and clear information about the steps involved in the process. The technician showed up to our place at the correct time. He was very polite and friendly. After a first inspection he told us, in direct, clear language what he was planning to do, the potential pitfalls. and ways around it. He finished the job quickly with minimum disruption of our activities and before leaving explained very well what the next steps would be. There were no surprise costs and they only charged us after a test demonstrated radon levels were below the maximum accepted value. Great service!"

FAQs for radon gas testing projects in Canal Winchester, OH

Radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer in the U.S. The gas seeps through cracks in foundations and collects in basements and other low areas. Once you breathe it in, radioactive particles lodge in lung tissue and do long-term damage. Because you can’t see or smell radon, the EPA recommends testing your home every two years—and after major renovations—to keep your family safe.

Yes—every home should be tested. The EPA advises doing it at least every two years and any time you remodel, buy, or sell. On average, one in 15 houses nationwide sits above the recommended limit, and the only way to know where yours stands is a formal test. The equipment simply measures gas levels and won’t change your indoor environment, so the process is completely harmless.

Certified radon professionals—often home inspectors or dedicated radon mitigation contractors—handle testing. These radon testing professionals follow EPA protocols and use calibrated instruments to check levels throughout your house. Hiring a certified radon specialist means results you can trust for real estate deals, insurance requirements, and, most importantly, your family’s health.

Inspectors specialize in measuring radon gas levels, while licensed mitigation contractors design and install the systems that remove it. If your test comes back high, your inspector can point you to a qualified mitigation pro who will size and install the right fan, piping, or other equipment to bring levels down.

No—standard home air purifiers don’t touch radon. They’re built to trap dust and pollen, not radioactive gas. If testing shows high levels, you’ll need a dedicated mitigation system that vents the gas from beneath your home to the outdoors. Relying on a room purifier alone won’t keep your indoor air safe.

Opening a few windows in your home might dilute radon for a short time, but the gas seeps back in as soon as they’re closed. For a lasting fix, you’ll need a professional mitigation system—often a sub-slab depressurization fan—that pulls radon from beneath the foundation and safely vents it outside.
