"I dealt with Leon De Anda for my roof work. Leon was honest and professional and very informative about what could be done with my roof. He offered me a few options and also asked me if there were anything specific I wanted done. I basically described what I wanted and he curtailed his bid to what I was looking for at the best price. I liked the fact that he was honest and straight forward without playing any games or try and screw me over. In the end, I decided to get a whole new roof, down to even getting all new plywood. The men who came to work on the roof were competent and professional. They went to great lengths to only bother me when it was necessary. Everyday they made a mess but at the end of the day they would always clean it up. I thought they were very professional. Leon was not at my house everyday but he was always just a phone call away. He was very accessible. Once the work was completed, Leon and myself walked around the property and inspected the work. He made sure that I was completed satisfied before everything was finalized. Protecta Roofing made a big impression on me based on the way they started and completed this job. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking to get some roof work done or even some general contracting work done."

"Overall, the job went very well. Aaron was the supervisor and was able to expedite my job to a window in his schedule that no other contractors were able to accommodate. There was a nice week between storms that he got his crew in to remove the old tiles, clean up, perform inspections and get the new materials installed. There was a minor glitch in the removal part of the job (a rain gutter was damaged), but Aaron handled it exceptionally. At the end of the job, I asked Aaron to take my phone camera onto the roof and take pictures, since I can't get up there myself to inspect. He provided excellent photos of all the critical areas of the roof, louvers, pipe outlets, etc. He even provided photos of the chimney stucco that shows extreme weather damage, so I can show them to the next (stucco) contractor for that upcoming job. After inspecting the roof and chimney flashing Tony told me my roof was actually very well done and in good shape, and that in his opinion the source for water leaking into my home was due to a rusted out chimney case cover and termination cap (I got those items replaced as suggested and my problem was solved). I had actually called two companies to get an analysis and quotes to fix the problem. The other company told that my relatively new roof should be ripped up and replaced in that area of the roof. I appreciate the professional and honest approach of Great Western and they will be who I will use in the future when it does come time to replace or repair my roof."

"We had 5 or 6 contractors come out over a 2 year period, that gave us quotes ranging from $900 to $7000. When we finally made a decision on a company (Protecta Roofing, estimate $1500), they didn't show up on the scheduled day, then called me a week later (when it was raining) and asked if they could come out that day to do the work. We immediately hired a 2nd company (SRS Roofing, estimate $1900), who called me the day after they were scheduled to do the work, and told me that the quote was too low and that they would send me a new quote, but never did. I was ready to give up on Angie's List all together because the contractors seem so flaky. When we got Zenith out to do a quote, I was very pleased with Bryan's knowledge, explanations, timeline and quote ($1100). He got to work a couple days later (in between rain), he cleaned the roof and sealed it, and provided us with a 2 year warranty. I highly recommend Zenith for a no bull, well done job."

However, the most surprising thing, was that when there was a misunderstanding on the financing. "I had a small roof leak. I got a few estimates, Excaliber was the lowest although they had a disclaimer that the bill could be higher if they found wood rot. They did find a small amount and there was a small extra charge but I think it was fair. I would definitely use them again after some bad past experiences with roofers, it's nice to find an honest and professional company."

"I 90% like them. They were very good all the way through the process. However, finding after a year of having the panels that I haven't produced enough electricity and the electric company is billing me a large sum of money for the difference. They are looking into it now but I don't know what the outcome is going to be. Other than that, they are a great company. I paid $30,000 for the panels and I get the tax credit this year. I never checked any other companies because I have trees out front on the south side and no other company would even put panels on my roof. This is the only company that told me they had a way of doing it, and they put the panels on the back of my roof, but still facing the south side. Since there is no other company that would do it, I have no comparison for the price. The quality of their work was great. They were all very good to work with. They should not have given me the expectations that they did. They said that their panels would take care of all the electric that I was using so outside I would be able to use my electric heat as well. It would produce enough and it obviously hasn't. They made a mistake on that. For the most part, I think that they didn't have my tree problem so it's a great company."
