"Overall experience was positive. The diagnosis was good and only required a $15 part that was able to install myself. My frig is working great. While my total cost for the repair was $80 which included the $35 diagnostic fee, the lowest other price quote was over $400. I am very pleased with this new type of appliance repair. I will be recommending this my family and friends."

"They came when they said they would. They cleaned up after themselves and left no mess. They were courteous, professional and efficient. (I say they because on the second day, another tech came with him to help him remove my stackable dryer off my washer so he could fix it.) The next time an appliance needs help, I know without a doubt who I will contact."

"After several repairs over a couple of years we decided to replace our 14 year old central AC system with a new heat pump system. We got quotes from 3 companies, and decided to go with B.A.R. Appliances AC LLC based on past experience, extended warranty, and very competitive costs. The entire installation was efficient and professional. I found Henry and his staff a pleasure to deal with. They left me with a nice clean system and I would highly recommend B.A.R. Appliances AC LLC for any HVAC work. It's nice to have quality work done in this day and age!"

"Found Ramer Mechanical on Angie?s List and called in the morning about our AC not working.  He stopped by that same evening and quickly informed us of the problems.  After one of the problems was fixed that we were able to take care of on our own and which needed to be done before he could make his repairs, he came back in two business days and fixed it.  It has been close to a month  since repairs and everything is working great.  <br /> He was very professional, extremely knowledgeable, worked quickly and truly enjoys his profession.  He also gave us very helpful information on maintenance.  It was an overall positive experience and he is definitely the person I will call for regular preventive maintenance and for any mechanical issues we cannot deal with on our own. <br /> <br /> <br />"

"I am a divorced mom and I must admit I hate handling this type of thing, including the part where I have to invite an unknown man into my house. My experience with Joel, the owner of Tand J Appliances, has consistently been that he is professional, knowledgable, ethical and clearly an expert in his field. Carlisle is lucky to have someone of his caliber in our area. <br /> Joel has been to my house to fix 3 large appliances in the last three months, as detailed below: <br /> 1. My dryer heat element stopped working. I can't remember the details now but I think I paid several hundred or more to have it fixed less than a year ago - whatever the amount, it was cheaper than a new dryer. <br /> 2. In Aug, I called Joel again because my dishwasher's electronic panel would not function. He asked the model, came out, checked it out, knew right away it was the electrical panel, and was back the next day to replace the part and have it working. Total was $206.00 <br /> 3. Sat my basement got 2and quot; of water in it after it rained 9and quot; in 24 hours. Long story short on washing machine, I called Tand J Monday, he was here Tuesday, and told me that the electrical panel was shot and that the pump was so rusty from a prior flood with water in basement that he could not believe it was even functioning. He gave me a written estimate of $400 to fix everything, and he advised me to take that money and instead of paying him to fix it, that I should replace it because the life of these large appliances is only between 5-10 years anyway, and it was already that old. <br /> I asked him a slew of questions about models he would recommend from his vast experience, and he gave me straight, extremely helpful answers, and was very patient. I've been researching washing machines and places to buy them all day, and have called and texted him numerous times with follow-up questions. He has gone above and beyond to help advise me. <br /> I highly recommend giving Tand J your business! <br /> <br />"

"The sales person came out first to walk us through everything involved and the product options. We know we have horrible water, many of the neighbors have told us that appliances last max 5 years because of how hard the water is and how much lime/calcium build up is in it. The person pretty much confirms what we already know, thus the reason we are investigating a water system. He does an evaluation of our home on where a system could go and determines again what we had already suspected that it would need to be placed in our crawl space. This is the main reason we wanted to go with kinetico because it uses no electricity and because our crawl space does get water in it during periods of long and heavy rain and fast large snowmelt it is important for us to not feel worried about electrical issues. The day of installation arrives and the installation tech is very professional, he completes the installation as expected and spends at least another 45 minutes with me explaining the setup. He also goes over how to replace all filters, how to override the system if there is ever an issue and how to refill the tank, he showed me and let me do it 3 times so I was confident I could do it without assistance, he was so patient and knowledgable answering all of my questions. We've had the system 2 years now, we haven't had any issues, and it has been working great. We can finally actually drink our water the flavor before was just horrible. The water is completely clean no particles floating around in it. And since the installation I haven't had a single flare up of my eczema. In additional we no longer have to clean all our faucets every 3 months of all the heavy calcium/lime build up either, so we feel confident moving forward our appliances will stay in top working order, and any issues will not be due to the poor quality of our water. Honestly as pricey as this particular system is vs other options, we have found that it was well worth the additional costs and has saved us money in the long run on bottled water which we had to use for everything before. Our neighbors went with a cheaper option as did a friend in a neighborhood close by and neither of them are able to drink the water without additional filters and both their systems use electricity and take up precious storage space in their"

"I wish I had used these people earlier. I ordered a part for my dryer and was able through their instructional video to fix it myself. Let me tell you I am "mechanically challenged" in just about every way. LOL I may have cut myself through my own stupidity but I did it. it was easy and I did not have to pay a repair man for a simple fix. Thank you so much!"

FAQs for fridge, freezer or ice maker repair or service projects in Carlisle, PA

Most ice makers are similar in design, and some parts are interchangeable. However, if your ice maker has advanced filters or special features, it's best to use the same make and model to ensure everything works properly. Ask your appliance repair pro to check your appliance specifications to be sure.

With regular use and proper maintenance, an ice maker typically lasts about four to five years. If you keep up with tasks like changing the filters every six months, you might get up to 10 years out of your ice maker. Address any problems with your ice maker right away by calling an appliance professional to ensure you solve any issues before they escalate, helping to keep your ice maker running smoothly for longer.

Your refrigerator's age plays a big role in deciding whether to repair or replace the ice maker. If your fridge is nearing the end of its average 14-year lifespan, it might not be worth investing in expensive repairs since other parts could fail soon. Getting a diagnosis from a refrigerator repair pro can help you decide what's best.
