"14 piers were installed and the addition was jacked back into place. They jacked multiple piers at one time. The cracks that had opened up between the addition and the rest of the house were completely or substantially closed. The addition was returned to level. The addition was lifted up to two inches. EFS delivered more than than they promised on the lift. They were able to work next to a deck that was about 6 feet away without removing the deck. One small disappointment was with the back filling after the lifting was complete. The addition is constructed with insulated concrete forms (PolySteel) with a brick ledge that extends out from the side of the wall. There is a drain pipe connected to the down spouts that rests under the brick ledge. The back fill was not sufficiently placed and compacted under and behind the pipe. The ground next to the addition later sank two to three inches after a heavy rain when the voids around the pipe were filled by wet soil. Overall I would grade the job as an A- because of the back filling."

"The owner contacted me 40 minutes after posting. He arrived at my house 2 hours later. He measured the project and quoted me a price two ways, asphalt and concrete. The upgrade for concrete was reasonable, so that's what we went for. A few days later, we signed the contract with 1/3 down-payment. The crew arrived a few days later and demolition began. All work was completed within a reasonable time with only one rain day. We paid an additional 1/3 half way through and the final payment on the last day. Overall, we are pleased with the outcome. We do have two low spots that are holding rainwater. This won't be an issue once we build the carport. The owner gets an A for excellent and honest communication. The crew gets a B... a few no-shows, cellphone use and footprints on fresh concrete. Ours was a huge, complex and challenging concrete job. Peyton was able to pull it off and give us what we asked for!"

The two men, Daniel and Dominick, explained what was going to be done and were professional the entire day. The concrete slab was leveled with the front porch and looked as good as new. All joints in the driveway were cleaned, filled and sealed. The project was completed on time and at a reasonable cost. Great job!"

"Johnson Masonry Restoration did an exemplary job rebuilding a block wall, which was caving in the entrance to my basement in my home. They completely dismantled the old wall and built a new one to replace it. For the second job, they completed a new drainage system down my walkway which now redirects the water which was running down when there was extensive rain. Mr. Johnson and his crew fixed my chimney by creating a new cap on the structure. Finally, the crew smoothed out a large crack in my patio and applied it to resurface to even out the patio. When I first contacted Tom Johnson he displayed professionalism as we worked through a bid on the job. The price was reasonable and the timeline for completion of the project was fair. At all times all of the employees of the company were polite and answered my questions and reassured me along the way. I would highly recommend this company to complete all your needs for masonry restoration. Great job!"

"<p>Mr. Taylor did a wonderful job replacing our back deck.  He is professional, easy to work with, and a very hard worker!  We are very pleased with the end result and have had many compliments on our deck from friends and family.  <br /> The work consisted of removing the entire deck down to the supports which were still in great shape. The handrails and deck were all replaced as well as metal and gutters put underneath the deck for protection from weather when we are sitting on our patio below.  After the deck was complete, they replaced a sliding glass door onto our deck.  The door we purchased was smaller than the opening, so Mr. Taylor had frame in the door and insulate it.  We couldnt be more pleased with how he made it work.<br /> </p> Each day Mr. Taylor cleaned up the area and contained the building materials to one section of our yard.  We really liked this aspect of the work done because they took time to ensure things were neat before they left each day. <br />"

"We have plans to tear off and rebuild a significant portion of our 177 year old farmhouse, which includes removing concrete flooring and re-pouring new, installing in-floor heating, tearing off a large framed section and rebuilding it larger and adding a balcony, modifying the roof, plumbing for a full bath, installing wood and tile floors, closing up an old exterior doorway, siding, and painting. After finding Jon Locy and another contractor through AngiesList, we met with both several times and both submitted bids. We were impressed with Jon's open, friendly business style and air of competence and enjoyed talking with him; however, his schedule did cause him to miss a few appointments with us, and we missed one with him. He responded to emails in a fairly timely manner, and was thorough in answering questions and providing information. His bid was in line with the work we want performed. In the end, we signed with the other contractor for a couple of reasons, one of which was Jon's and our schedule for the work didn't match up. I would not hesitate for a moment to have Jon perform ANY job for us, and indeed we may call him for future projects. Really wish the overall rating could reflect an A- instead of a B (minus only because of the missed meetings). Call Jon."
