"I needed three things done: drywall repair, a cabinet made and installed, and three rooms painted. The form does not permit me to list more than one project, unfortunately, because Lizardo Reyes was able to do all three projects. He works alone, did them all in two and a half days, and did beautiful work. He is a competent worker, quiet and conscientious. I recommend him highly. He was punctual, wasted no time, takes pride in his work and cleans up as he goes. I will definitely call on him any time I need similar work done. His price was quite reasonable, even including all needed materials, which he purchased."

"Hire at your own risk. I had to fire their first crew and their second. Quality of work does not exist with them. I was taken advantage of as a woman with the subpar crew, and when I fired the first crew and held them accountable they began to treat me terribly. When spending a large amount of money for a bathroom and kitchen reno and other small jobs, higher expectations and customer service and quality of work should be received."

Customers say: Terrific value

"We hired Above and Beyond to install a granite counter top in our kitchen but sadly they did not live up to their name. When they arrived they tried to sell us a used sink. We said we would prefer to use our existing sink as their one was cream and our one was white which was a better fit for our floor tiles and cabinets. We asked if this was possible and they said yes. We even called the main guy we had been dealing with called Edgar and he said yes. However, they did not explain that if we used our existing sink it would sit on top of the granite as it is a drop in cast iron sink. If we used their sink it would sit under the granite as it is an under mount. The previous counter top we had, sat on top of the existing sink. All the photos they sent of their previous work had the sink under the Granite and this is what we asked for. At the end of the job we questioned why the sink was on top of the granite and they said it was a drop in cast iron sink and therefore was too heavy. Not once did they mention this at the beginning of the project. Perhaps there was a language barrier. The next morning we called and spoke to Edgar, initially he called us straight back but then was very blaming saying we should have mentioned it at the end of the job. Which we did. He said we are now stuck with it and the only thing he could do was put another drop in sink and that will cost us another $150 plus the cost of a new sink. When we asked why they had not told us our existing sink would sit on top of the granite at the start of the project he did not have an answer. They are supposed to be the experts! They should have told us. The only positive thing we can say was that one granite slab was too short and so they shaved off a little from the inside so it fit better. They charged us extra but we were happy to pay. However, we are stuck with the sink on top of the granite. Granite is expensive. Once it is cut it is cut. We will never use them again."

FAQs for stone slab countertops installation (granite, marble, quartz, etc) projects in Carrollton, TX

Soapstone countertops are durable, environmentally friendly, easy to maintain, non-porous, heat-resistant, and naturally antibacterial. They resist stains and cracks, making them a practical and long-lasting choice. However, soapstone has limited color options and can have visible seams in larger installations. It may also scratch or chip if not handled carefully and tends to have a higher initial cost than other materials. Overall, if you're looking for a functional and aesthetically pleasing countertop, soapstone is a solid choice despite these minor drawbacks.

Soapstone countertops typically come in light to dark gray, often with blue or green undertones. One of the unique features of soapstone is that it deepens in color over time, developing a rich patina that adds to its charm. Each slab is unique, with natural streaks and veining that become more pronounced as the countertop ages, giving your kitchen or bathroom a dynamic and evolving look.

With proper care, soapstone countertops can last 50 years or more. Regular cleaning with mild detergents and occasional applications of mineral oil to enhance the natural patina will keep your countertops looking beautiful. Thanks to its durable nature, soapstone stands up well for daily use, making it a wise long-term investment for your home.

Sealing isn't necessary for soapstone countertops. Soapstone is naturally non-porous and antibacterial, resists stains, and doesn't harbor bacteria. While you don't need to seal it, applying mineral oil occasionally can enhance its natural beauty and help develop a rich patina over time. This simple maintenance keeps your countertop looking its best for years to come.
