Small jobs welcome

"Marcos and his team were incredibly professional and knowledgeable during this kitchen remodel. From the quote through planning, ordering, scheduling, and installation I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Everything didn't go exactly according to plan but Marcos was there with me to get make sure I got what I had envisioned. Close to the end of the cabinet install the slab was broken at the retailers warehouse. Marcos contacted me with this very hard news and offered to meet me that day to pick a replacement. Together we went to 3 or 4 places until I found just the one. It was meant to be, I love the slab I ended up with. My kitchen looks so good, friends have commented it really elevates the look of my open Floorplan. There was also a minor issue with the wrong cabinet being ordered after I had approved the design with the spice pull out cabinet. Marcos resolved it quickly and got me exactly what I had approved. I still can't believe it when I look around my kitchen, it is so gorgeous."

"Perfect ... We did 5 major renos in the 33 years we have lived in this house, and this was by far our best experience. Project was to relocate a laundry closet from the first to second floor, convert old laundry to pantry, completely rebuild upstairs bathroom, install new vinyl plank floors in 5 rooms upstairs, and more. On past renos, we felt lucky to find somebody that's honest, reliable and competent. But the Bath Shop redefined what to expect in a reno. Most outstanding were (1) great professional designer help and advice ... unlimited selection of materials - not just a sales person pushing what they wanted us to buy ... we got what we wanted - not just what they wanted to sell us (2) before start, ALL of the workers (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, framing/sheetrock/painting, etc) met at our site, measured and discussed with us what we wanted - therefore there were no unexpected delays, costs, etc and we got exactly what we wanted (3) work was done by Bath Shop employees - not by subcontractors ... all the work was top quality in every respect (4) complete line-item accounting for everything - not just a walk-through and shoot-from-the-hip quote from a contractor who would then sub out the various parts of the job (6) brief daily text message giving the next day's activity (7) project came in $150 under their $42K estimated budget and exactly met their 6 weeks time estimate ... workers were on the job every weekday of the 6 weeks ... they weren't the cheapest bidder, but they were far less expensive than some bids we got, and nobody could have done it better for any price (8) professional demeanor, and clean-up was done after every day's work (9) and more ... If you need a reno, you can not go wrong with this group."

"I highly recommend this company for granite repair. They promptly responded to my request and scheduled an appointment for the very next day. They arrived on time, were extremely professional, and repaired my granite countertop so flawlessly that you can’t even tell where the crack had been. The pricing was very reasonable, and the quality of the workmanship was pristine. Reliable, skilled, and highly professional from start to finish."

Offers commercial services

"JM Marble and Granite did an amazing job replacing our old countertop with a new, modern Quartz countertop. The process was extremely easy and JM made a great recommendation that saved us some money. After going to the showroom to pick out our slab, JM suggested a different slab that was more economical and that we actually liked better. After the slab selection the work was completed very quickly and scheduled to fit with the timing of the entire kitchen redesign. Installation took less than one day. JM also did our bathroom countertops and built-in desk top to match the kitchen. Their work was very high quality and looks amazing. We highly recommend this contractor."

FAQs for stone slab countertops installation (granite, marble, quartz, etc) projects in Charlotte, NC

With proper care, granite countertops can last 100 years or more—even in busy kitchens. The stone itself is extremely hard, but its longevity hinges on routine maintenance. Wipe up spills right away to avoid stains and reseal the surface once a year to keep moisture out. Those simple steps protect the finish and let the countertop stay both functional and attractive for decades.

Most granite countertop installations wrap up in a single day. A small vanity might take just a couple of hours, while a sprawling kitchen with multiple cut-outs or seams could stretch to eight hours. Timing depends on the layout’s size and complexity, plus any prep work like cabinet reinforcement or sink cut-outs. Experienced installers plan each step to keep your kitchen downtime to a minimum.

Granite isn’t your only stone choice. Marble delivers a classic, high-end look, while quartz blends natural stone with resins for extra strength and easy upkeep. Quartzite offers marble-like veining with granite-level durability, and soapstone brings a softer, matte finish that develops character over time. Consider how each material lines up with your style, maintenance goals, and budget before you decide.

Granite countertops can boost resale appeal and may recoup up to 25% of their installation cost when you sell. Buyers value their timeless style, durability, and low upkeep, so updated granite surfaces often stand out in listing photos and showings. Beyond potential return on investment (ROI), they refresh the kitchen’s look and signal that the space has been well cared for.

Quartz and granite are both tough, but they excel in different ways. Engineered quartz is non-porous, so it shrugs off spills and resists scratches from daily use, yet direct heat can damage its resins. Granite handles hot pans better but needs yearly sealing because it’s naturally porous. Choose quartz if you want nearly maintenance-free durability, or pick granite for a heat-friendly surface that rewards a little routine care.
