"I can’t praise Julian’s work enough. I was very pleased and look forward to having him back in the near future. He was prompt, persistent and proficient with an eye for detail, while focusing on the job at hand. Watching the care he took in his painting, including removing old paint coatings, applying various finishes, including primer, sealer and two coats of high quality paints, he also took the time to obtain the desired color needed. Along with all this, his pricing was more than fair for a job well done. Also, something you don’t experience everyday is, he wouldn’t accept my check until I approved all his work. In closing, I sound like an advertisement, but I’m trying to make the point of how pleased I was with his work. Thanks again Julian. See you again soon for some interior painting I need done."

"The appointment was for 9:00 am and the young man arrived at 9:30. I think he tried to call to let me know, but didn't leave a message. He was very fast --less than an hour. I had a couple of spots that should have come up easily, but did not. I was easily able to get them up afterwards simply by spraying them with Resolve. He was able to partially remove a red stain that I didn't expect, but it appeared that he didn't notice the others. The carpet was extremely wet when he left. He indicated that it should take 4-6 hours to dry, so I put fans out to help it along. Even though the carpet is the flat industrial carpet squares, it took over 24 hours to dry completely. One thing that happened, not necessarily the fault of the company, was that carbon monoxide built up in the basement due to the cleaning process. The van was backed up to the garage door to allow for the hoses, and the exhaust built up in the garage and into the basement. Once the door to the garage was closed, the detector quickly went off. Something to be aware of if the cleaning van is parked close to your access doors. Overall was not that happy with the results. I'm not sure if the deodorizer was applied. Carpet wasn't smelly prior to cleaning, but I expected the basement to smell 'fresh' once the cleaning was done. It mostly smelled damp because it took so long for the carpet to dry.

"My tub looks new and perfectly matches the new bathroom tile. Who knew there were so may different shades of white for a tub?? This is a cost effective alternative to replacing a tub. My next project will be for them to do the shower pan in my master bathroom. I realize that the 'in' thing is to have elaborate mosaic tiles in the shower pan but I think that is trendy and creates a look of issues with grout. - Just a personal opinion. Bob was able to do the project on my time table which I really appreciate."

FAQs for small projects painting or staining projects in Carter Lake, IA

You'll need about two gallons of paint to fully cover your kitchen cabinets with two coats. Since each gallon covers around 350 square feet, it's a good idea to measure your cabinets or use a paint calculator to determine exactly how much you'll need. Starting with one or two coats of primer and then applying two to three layers of paint will give you a flawless, durable finish. Using high-quality paint can reduce the number of coats needed and provide a long-lasting finish.

The best type of paint for your kitchen cabinets is latex paint because it applies evenly and creates a durable finish. If you're painting wood surfaces and need extra adhesion, acrylic paint is a great alternative. We don't recommend oil-based paint for residential use due to its VOC emissions. For finishes, go with eggshell, semi-gloss, gloss, or satin, as matte finishes aren't as durable or as easy to clean.

The best method for painting kitchen cabinets is spray painting because it gives you a smooth, even finish without brush strokes. While brushes and rollers can work, they often leave marks and require more effort. If you're aiming for a professional look, spray painting is your best bet to enhance the beauty and durability of your cabinets.
