In the end, we removed about 60-70 feet of unnecessary piping with far too many elbows which dramatically decreased the static head on the new pump. And by moving the tank uphill to a smarter location on a new platform they built under the house, we also removed maybe 90 lbs of water weight that the new pump has to push against. At Arnul's suggestion, we also doubled the system capacity with a larger tank so that it will last a long time with less cycling and more room for the submerged pump to operate. I have no idea what the original builders were thinking, but we now have a dependable system that my house deserves. And everything is very neat and professional appearing with the wire harnesses and straps neatly positioned."
