"Colton and his team did a great job installing a new patio for us and also converted a fence panel to a big gate. They were very prompt and completed the job faster than expected. We had one problem come up and Colton was quick to fix it and guarantees his work. We will definitely hire them again!"

"The estimator did a tour of the attic, explained the condition of my current insulation, and then measured the rooms below the attic. He then confirmed the square footage and prepared the estimate, including two options for addressing my previously uninsulated garage ceiling. The estimate showed what the total cost would be and what I should expect to receive back in terms of rebate and tax benefits. My out of pocket cost was approximately 45% of the net total, excluding the insulation for the garage which was not eligible for the rebates or tax benefits. I was thrilled. With costs for the garage included, my out of pocket was 54% of the gross total. I was still very happy with this figure.

Once we agreed on the scope of work, he explained the installation process, what products are used, and prepared the documents for installation and rebate submission, and emailed me a receipt for my credit card payment. He scheduled two appointments, one for the next day and one for the day after (just in case either of us had an issue). I received a call later that day confirming a three-hour window for the installers to come the following day.

The installers arrived as scheduled and confirmed a few facts before getting to work. They finished in under an hour and a half (as I was told they would) and cleaned up before they left. The installer who worked in the attic asked if he could go in th house to check a bathroom fan he stepped on during the installation. He wanted to make sure he didn't damage the fan or the drywall that held it in place. (We both checked and everything was fine, but I appreciated him being honest and proactive.) The installers then presented me with the certificate of completion that is needed for the rebates and also a short survey to evaluate their performance.

After making my decison to use SUNROC, I spoke with the inspector who helped me evaluate this home before purchasing it. I didn't know this until we spoke that he also used SUNROC to increase the insulation in his own home and said it was one of the best insulation jobs he had seen in 30 years of inspecting houses. I believe my experience is equal to his and couldn't be happier with the result."

"I bought a little fixer upper. It had this hideous, huge aluminum awning which shaded south facing windows that I wanted the sun to shine in during winter to help heat my home. I hired Gregory to tear the awning down and build a small covered porch. He took care to place posts in heavy concrete to secure through our high winds. Which HAS been tested! He used steel from my roofing project and painted the posts to match accent colors. It's sturdy and beautiful and was finished in just a couple days."

"Bold Concrete Concepts saved the day! After a failed attempt at leveling and finishing the floors in the guesthouse ourselves, we decided it was time to call the professionals. I began calling around, looking for a concrete company that could not only fix our botched attempt, but to also do it in a timely manner. Bold Concrete was able to do both. Paul Barlow arrived a half an hour after our phone conversation to assess the damage. He was very knowledgeable and offered a good solution to our problem. As it turns out, not only does Bold Concrete do your everyday concrete, they also specialize in custom concrete floors. Paul’s recommendation was to do a polymer-based concrete overlay that would then be stamped, stained and sealed. The overlay is first toweled on, then, once the overlay has set up a little, he goes through with the stamp (ours was Italian slate). After the stamped overlay has been allowed to dry, he and his crew came in and sprayed on the concrete stain. To finish it off, a few coats of sealer were then applied. The finished product is beautiful! The stamping gives the floor a nice texture, and the way the acid stain reacts with the concrete really adds a unique richness and depth. The sealer helps to bring out the color and gives the floor a nice gloss. All said and done, Paul and Bold Concrete Concepts delivered what they promised. We got a gorgeous stamped concrete floor, in a reasonable amount of time, for a very reasonable price. Paul was on the ball, he showed up when he said he was going to, did a great job and cleaned up afterwards! What more could we ask for? We highly recommend Bold Concrete Concepts and will definitely be using them in the future for our next concrete project."

FAQs for concrete patios, walks & steps installation projects in Cedar City, UT

Most sidewalks rely on a ready‑mix blend of Portland cement, sand, gravel, and water that trucks deliver to your site and pour in one continuous lift. For added strength, many contractors fold in fiber mesh or steel reinforcement. This mix cures into a rock‑solid slab that stands up to foot traffic, freeze‑thaw cycles, and daily wear for decades. Expect a pro to recommend a 4‑inch‑thick pour for standard walkways.

With the right mix, proper drainage, and routine upkeep, a concrete sidewalk can last 25 to 50 years. Freeze‑thaw cycles, road salt, and heavy loads all shorten that timeline, but sealing every few years and patching small cracks early keeps damage in check. Think of sealing as inexpensive insurance for decades of safe, stable footing. In milder climates, some slabs push well past the 30‑year mark without major repairs.

Concrete sidewalks crack as a result of significant temperature fluctuations and heavy load pressures. The freeze-thaw cycles and sustained weight from vehicles or intense foot traffic force the concrete to develop cracks over time. Applying a premium sealant every two to three years and substituting salt with sand for de-icing minimizes crack formation. Regular maintenance and timely repairs safeguard the sidewalk’s structural integrity and extend its service life.
