"We had all the windows in our home replaced through Sandia Sunrooms & Windows last year. Immediately, I noticed a big difference in the temperature of the room, and no more cold drafts! Additionally, our A/C has been able to maintain the programmed temperature throughout this very hot summer, and our utility bills have still decreased by more than $100 per month. Don did a great job installing the windows, and we couldn't be happier with the entire process. I would highly recommend Sandia Sunrooms & Windows for any home improvement project you are considering."

"I hired M&R Marble and Granite for their Granite countertop services. Maria was great to work with as she walked me through the entire process. Maria was patient and kind. She even came to my house to double check my measurements and gave me options to consider. The installers were on time and only took a couple hours to do the install. The countertop came out amazing, better then what we imagined. Their prices are fair and the quality of their work is outstanding. I highly recommend M&R Marble and Granite!"

"<p>We interviewed and got estimates from several contractors, each one offering different materials and styling. Rick (Owner at Swift Built) did the estimate, the presentation of their aluminum product, and headed up the installation as well.</p> <p>We chose Swift Built because they offer an exceptionally high quality product (Alumawood by Amerimax). It is strong and durable enough to withstand the harsh weather conditions here, is low/no maintenance. It looked beautiful in the brochures as well as the pictures Rick showed of actual installations. We wanted the carport to be an upgrade to our home and property, not just an addition.</p> <p>We could not be happier with the results. Rick was accurate about lead time, kept us informed about when the product would arrive, was punctual in calling to set an installation date, and was even able to install it a day early. Rick and his son worked cleanly and efficiently, they cleaned up and left no trace of being on site....except for the beautiful new carport addition. And he was able to offer a color that matches our house perfectly.</p> <p>All of these things make the price a very reasonable but exceptional investment!</p> <p>We are planning to have some additional side slats added soon and will definitely consider this company for future outdoor structures.</p> <br />"

"It went great. Personable, hardworking crew.  This was not an easy or clean job.  Dusty, nasty with about a gazillion nails & screws.  Old roofing material, stucco, corbels, vigas, big beams and tongue and groove boards partially attached to the house.  Job required a bit of planning and finesse to get this all done without damage to the house or the workers.  Mission accomplished!/ <br />"

"They did an excellent job. They are professional and know concrete. Offered advice on improving my plans and it turned out great. I have a backyard patio project in the distant future and agreed to having it poured now with footers, saving money now since the mixer was coming out."

"We consulted with Dreamstyle Remodeling, since the original sunroom was a Four Seasons. Jerome Rethmel explained all the options, from replacing the sunroom with a new one through building a "sunny room." We chose to convert the space to a conventionally framed/roofed space, with matching existing exterior stucco. We were impressed with his involvement and responsiveness, and with our site manager and the many other workers involved. All put in top quality work, left the space daily fastidiously clean, and went a step beyond on a few points (e.g. window sills not in the contract). Questions were promptly answered and, if need be, details corrected. We recognize they are not the lowest cost in town, but quality and peace of mind count for a lot!"

FAQs for sunroom or patio enclosure building service projects in Cedar Crest, NM

A sunroom is a fully enclosed space with walls of windows or glass. It allows you to enjoy the outdoors from the comfort of the indoors, protected from bugs and weather. It functions as an additional room in your home. A covered patio extends your home's roof over an outdoor area, providing shade and shelter while remaining open to the fresh air. It's a great way to enjoy outdoor living while being protected from sun and rain.

Adding screens to your porch is the most budget-friendly way to enclose it. Screening keeps out insects and debris while letting you enjoy the breeze and outdoor ambiance. It's less expensive than installing full walls or glass enclosures and doesn't usually require permits, making it an efficient way to upgrade your porch.

If you're transforming your porch into a fully enclosed living space like a sunroom, you'll likely need a sturdy foundation, such as a reinforced concrete slab, to support the structure. For a simple screened-in porch, you might be able to use the existing floor and support posts without additional foundation work. It's best to consult a professional to determine what's needed for your project.

An enclosed porch can be considered a living space if it's fully enclosed with solid walls and windows, has a proper roof, and includes heating and cooling systems. It should also have direct access from inside your home. When these criteria are met, the space becomes an extension of your home's livable area.
