Mr. Bugg’s Pest Patrol, Inc. was established in 1980 and started as a one man business. Over the past 36 years we have grown to 29 employees but maintain our original goal, to make each customer our top priority. David Kellis, the owner, believes in treating everyone with integrity and respect and has gone to great lengths to instill this philosophy throughout the company. The pest control industry recognized this attribute by electing David as the President of the Alabama Pest Control Association in 2005. The company’s General Manager, Susan Taylor, was recognized as continuing this tradition when the Association voted her the President 2015. We always embrace green technology in the use of any pesticides. Whether we are utilizing baits, residuals or some type of trapping program. Some of the brand name products or systems we use, you may recognize such as: Sentricon, Termidor, Arilon, Top Choice, Suspend, Demon, Tempo, etc. We believe that it is most beneficial to our customers to be as diversified as possible in the ongoing battle against pests. Our goal is to free up our customers’ time and manpower by taking care of their pest control needs as well as providing peace of mind by knowing a licensed company with ongoing training is at their service. Locally owned & operated, bonded & insured. Online payment options available. Additional email - contact@mrbuggs.com. Award winning.
"I have been using Mr. Buggs for 3 years for pest control and have been very pleased. I was using another company for my yard, trugreen, and they were horrible. They basically killed my $10,000 lawn. I decided since the pest control was spot on, I would give the lawn service a try. I met with the gentleman and had a laundry list of concerns about my lawn. I waited patiently, because of all the rain, and sure enough he showed up in a timely manner and remembered everything I said and had a plan for it. It truly is great customer service with a feeling that you matter and are not just another dollar sign."

The Aardwolf is a member of the Hyena family and lives in the plains and open woodland of eastern and southern Africa. It weights between fifteen and thirty-one pounds and feeds primarily on termites, which it hunts at night. The aardwolf's keen hearing helps it locate termites, and its long, sticky tongue licks them right up. Most hyenas have strong teeth and jaws and can eat and digest flesh and bone, but the aardwolf's stubby molars can't chew meat and its jaw is too weak to eat anything other than bugs. Aardwolves are also unlike members of the hyena family in that they forage alone. Aardwolves live in their own burrows or in dens abandoned by other animals. On sunny days they spend most of the morning lying outside, but when it's rainy they might stay in their dens the entire day.

It all started with a single employee back in 1992. There was just the owner, Josh Broughton, a truck, and a simple fumigation system. Back then only cockroach extermination services were available. But as the years added on, other forms of insects were added onto the roster. Next was termites, as that usually merits fast response from homeowners. Nowadays Father and Son Pest Control can take on any problem no matter what the species.

You're likely to find nesting birds in external areas such as your gutters, eaves, porches, and chimneys. Some birds also nest in less obvious spots, like attics or even in your ventilation systems if they gain access. A reputable pro will conduct an inspection before starting any work to check for evidence of where birds may have set up roosting or nesting sites in your home.
Leaving birds to roost and nest on your home creates significant risks that affect both your home's structure and your well-being. The constant droppings, aggressive swooping, and persistent noise can damage siding, allow moisture intrusion, and stain exterior finishes. In addition, the birds’ pecking and droppings can spread diseases and parasites, which can lead to escalating repair costs and health hazards.
Yes, humane removal is possible and ensures that birds remain unharmed during the extraction process. Experts use proven methods to safely capture and relocate both birds and their nests to secure environments. Professionals employ stainless steel spikes as a deterrent while avoiding harmful techniques such as poisons or glue traps. You can rely on trusted specialists who strictly use safe, noninjurious methods, thereby protecting the birds while resolving the nuisance.
Yes, there are legal considerations when removing birds and their nests. You must adhere to strict local and state regulations, which safeguard protected native species during nesting season. Special authorization is required to remove protected birds, their nests, or eggs under the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the Migratory Bird Treaty Act. Observing these legal mandates avoids violations and ensures safe, responsible removal.
To prevent birds from returning after nest removal, you can implement deterrent methods. Installing stainless steel spikes creates a secure barrier that prevents birds from roosting without causing injury. In contrast, loose nets may entangle birds and other wildlife, creating additional hazards. A trusted professional will choose and install the optimal method to keep your home bird-free.
A bird’s nest remains viable for a period that depends on the species. The construction phase concludes within 2 days to 3 weeks, followed by a rearing stage lasting 2 to 10 weeks. Most birds become fully independent within 2 to 6 weeks, while certain predatory species require up to 2 1/2 months. This timeline can guide you on when it's safe to intervene.
