"Overall experience was positive. The diagnosis was good and only required a $15 part that was able to install myself. My frig is working great. While my total cost for the repair was $80 which included the $35 diagnostic fee, the lowest other price quote was over $400. I am very pleased with this new type of appliance repair. I will be recommending this my family and friends."

"I had a question about microwave repair. He answered all my questions and was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Unfortunately new parts are no longer available for model in question. He gave me part # if I wanted to call around for a used part somewhere. Got lots of good info."

"I wish I had used these people earlier. I ordered a part for my dryer and was able through their instructional video to fix it myself. Let me tell you I am "mechanically challenged" in just about every way. LOL I may have cut myself through my own stupidity but I did it. it was easy and I did not have to pay a repair man for a simple fix. Thank you so much!"

"Excellent service! The technician arrived on time, quickly diagnosed and fixed the problem. Over the years, I've had several home appliance warranty companies. Without question, Complete Appliance Protection is the best one I've ever contracted with. Their monthly price is a little higher than most, but I do have their best protection plan with $0 deductible. You get what you pay for..."

"Great! The first shelf arrived looking as if a bicycle ran over it and the shelf was broken. I contacted Appliance Zone, they immediately replaced the shelf. The new shelf arrived quickly and I did not have to go through hoops to get it handled, it was wonderful. They even followed up to make sure it went well. Great customer service shows up best when things go wrong. They handled quickly and painlessly. THANKS!!!"

"Rhonda was helpful after talking with a technician about what could be wrong. My husband talked with Curt - very nice to determine what we might do. We ended up not needing a service call and ordered a part from them, due any time - not sure of the part cost, but is minimal."

"When the oven broke, Hi Tech got a technician out with a couple hours to look at things. The tech was unable to fix it within a time frame that Hi Tech felt was fast enough so to make sure I wasn't without an oven they simply ordered me a new one. What more can you ask for? There was no "we need to order parts" or "we need to get another tech out who maybe knows more about this model." None of that. They couldn't fix it on the first trip so let's order a new one, take care of the customer, and the contractor can refurbish the original oven on his own time and do with it as he needs. Every time I've contacted Hi Tech they have moved mountains to make sure I'm taken care of...even in cases where their warranty didn't cover whatever was going on they have helped negotiate lower prices and have helped coordinate routine maintenance. This is a big issue that I think a lot of people take for granted. Hi Tech, like any home warranty company, is NOT responsible for routine maintenance. We as homeowners have to take care of our homes, appliances, water heaters, HVAC systems etc. We can't expect Hi Tech to fix issues that are a result of our own lack of maintenance. We have to do our part and I have been incredibly grateful for Hi Tech's willingness to help coordinate that routine service. When it's time to have my HVAC system looked at, I call Hi Tech and they coordinate a service visit. I pay a preferred rate to the contractor and I know that I'm doing my part under the warranty to ensure that if issues do arise I'm covered. There was one issue that was not covered under the warranty because I had not had my HVAC inspected in over a year. In that case, Hi Tech worked with the contractor to 1. get out to my house IMMEDIATELY to address the major issue 2. work with me and the contractor to ensure I was paying the lowest possible price. I've never had a warranty company advocate for me in this way. Most of the time if something isn't covered you get a "sorry we can't help you" kind of response and that's the end of that. Then we're on our own to find a repairman and deal with whatever comes. Not so with Hi Tech. They are with me every step of the way, on the phone coordinating everything between me and the contractors. Of all the companies out there I have found Hi Tech to be the easiest to deal with, the most straightforward and professional, and who have the nicest, hardworking contractors. They even provide a plan that includes basic issues related to the exterior of the home, another plus that distinguishes them from other companies. Again though, don't expect them to replace your roof for you. That's not what they do but if you're maintaining things and you have a covered issue, there will be no problems in working with Hi Tech to address whatever is going on. If it's not covered, expect them to go the extra mile to make sure you get what you need done by honest people you can trust."

"I have used this company on several occasions between summer 2009 and spring 2011. Note that at some point between the first service and the next time I used this company, the service manager changed and in my opinion, the service deteriorated. <br /> 1) The first time was in summer 2009 for what turned out to be a simple repair to my refrigerator's ice maker. Technician came out and fixed the problem quickly, charge was $125 for the service call. This was a good experience. <br /> 2) The second time was in October 2010 for a washing machine repair in my rental unit. Charge was $125 for the service call, machine worked until April 2011 when I spent an additional $394 to repair the washing machine. The machine has been working since that time. Setting up the repair was challenging since I was on vacation and my tenants were not able to make progress without my calling the service department several times to try to speed things up. But that kind of thing is typical of repair work in the Vail Valley. <br /> 3) Finally, in December 2010, I called Alpine Appliance to fix the dishwasher in my rental unit which was only four years old and my tenant said was not working properly. The technician said that it needed a new electronic "board" and placed an order. The board arrived and was installed by the technician at a cost of $319 (total for board and installation). The board was installed after my existing tenant moved out and before my new tenants moved in. Upon my new tenants moving in, the dishwasher would not run. This is where it gets interesting... The service manager told me I could just call General Electric since they made the bad board and it wasn't his responsibility. He said that General Electric made low quality products and it wasn't his fault I had purchased one. He was very combative and clearly would not stand behind his company's work. Sadly, I was forced into a corner at this point because I had new tenants who needed a working dishwasher immediately. I found a satisfactory model in stock at Home Depot but at that time Home Depot had discontinued delivery and installation services which didn't work for me. I ended up spending another $850 with Alpine Appliance on a new dishwasher and installation. At this time, I would only use Alpine Appliance to repair this particular appliance, for which I also purchased their extended warranty. I would not use them again for anything else unless it was an extreme emergency. Unfortunately, there are very few options for professional appliance repair in this area and you do what you have to. <br /> This form is clearly set up to report one service call at a time so it has been a bit challenging to try to force this into one review. The approximate service date above is the last time I used this company. The dollar amount is the total spent for all of the services. <br /> <br />"

FAQs for fridge, freezer or ice maker repair or service projects in Chama, CO

Most ice makers are similar in design, and some parts are interchangeable. However, if your ice maker has advanced filters or special features, it's best to use the same make and model to ensure everything works properly. Ask your appliance repair pro to check your appliance specifications to be sure.

With regular use and proper maintenance, an ice maker typically lasts about four to five years. If you keep up with tasks like changing the filters every six months, you might get up to 10 years out of your ice maker. Address any problems with your ice maker right away by calling an appliance professional to ensure you solve any issues before they escalate, helping to keep your ice maker running smoothly for longer.

Your refrigerator's age plays a big role in deciding whether to repair or replace the ice maker. If your fridge is nearing the end of its average 14-year lifespan, it might not be worth investing in expensive repairs since other parts could fail soon. Getting a diagnosis from a refrigerator repair pro can help you decide what's best.
