"My driveway is almost a football field long, Asphalt Contractors gave me the best quote from five estimates and worked with me for a convenient date to fit my schedule, how could I go wrong! Asphalt Contractors is a family owned and operated business, no hired laborers who don't care. I was greeted by three of the families sons who were efficient, professional and polite. My requests prior to the job were listened to and accomplished by the young men with ease. After the job was finished I was given tips on how to help my driveway cure, In three years I will be calling asphalt Contractors again to keep my driveway looking new,,,,,,,,, Thank you Peter, Jack and Mark,,,, Your father should be proud of your talents! Dave & Kathy, Fort Loudon PA."

"The owner Brad was very easy to work with.  He gave me an estimate in a timely manner and did the work the next day.  Brad used a quality product and sealed all the cracks.  I have no doubt the seal coat will last several years.  I will definitely give him a call when I need my driveway sealed again. <br />"

"Perfectly. Our old driveway was in disrepair. I called Community Paving because they were doing the same job at a neighbor's driveway. They had an adequate fleet of equipment and crew to get the job done quickly and efficiently. When I called (on a Tuesday), I found out that he had another driveway scheduled in our neighborhood on Thursday. The owner, who was onsite at that job, walked up the street and called me right back with a quote. Their quote was well within range (at the lower end) than previous ones we have gotten over the years. We were able to get ours done the next day when they were back in the neighborhood (Thurs). <br /> The owner Greg Myers was out at the site (our residence) first thing making sure that everything was in order between our house and our neighbors. He introduced himself and showed up at the end to inspect the job. You can tell that he takes great pride in the work that his company produces. He's said he was very happy with the results. We were 'thrilled' with the result. It has totally transformed the look of the front of our house. Incredible curb appeal. Not only is the paving seamless (and our driveway is 20" wide). They also edged the sides, sprayed for weeds, placed a nice ribbing at the end of the driveway --and took it the whole way out to the road. We had about a 6" gap where the road must have met the driveway at one point, but when repaving the road workers had not come over as far. They graded it so that when it rains it should go past our yard now and run straight down the road. They guarantee their work for two years (the recommended amount), but if you check around many only guarantee their work for one. With proper sealing, Mr. Myers said it should last us 30 years. <br /> I highly recommended this company for their quality of work, professionalism, and honest business practices. I knew that it would look better, but wow!  "

"We were thinking about having our driveway widened and had received estimates from local contractors of $9,000 and $5,000. Allstate was in the neighborhood doing a few other driveways and stopped by our home to ask if they could give an estimate since they were doing another driveway the next day. Their estimate was $1,000 lower than one we had already received. I gave them the go ahead and they began working the next day. They even relocated and existing stack of firewood that we had on the driveway. They widened our existing driveway and resurfaced the existing asphalt. All of the employees were polite, friendly and professional. The owner, Jack Cooper was in the neighborhood supervising the entire process. Our foreman Oscar, was outstanding"

FAQs for asphalt paving installation projects in Chambersburg, PA

Most driveways wrap up in roughly a week. Allow two to three days for installation, followed by an additional two to three days for the surface to cure. Concrete and asphalt follow this timeline, whereas a gravel job often finishes more quickly. Laying out the schedule upfront makes it easier to plan your week and your budget.

Sealer prevents water, salt, and UV rays from damaging the surface. Apply a fresh coat every one to three years, and you’ll slow down the growth of cracks, avoid pricey repairs, and keep the driveway looking sharp. A local professional can handle the job efficiently and ensure even coverage.

Material is the significant driver when it comes to the lifespan of a driveway. Asphalt stays strong for about 20 years, concrete lasts 30 to 40 years, and paver stones can last 50 to 100 years because you can swap out damaged bricks. With regular top-ups, a gravel drive can also reach the century mark. Knowing these timelines helps you map out long-term maintenance and replacement costs.

Repaving strips everything down and starts fresh, letting you change the layout or improve drainage before pouring new material. Resurfacing, on the other hand, adds a top layer over a solid base, giving you a facelift without the need for a complete demolition. Go with repaving when the base is failing; choose resurfacing when the structure is sound and you just need a new surface.
