"This spring we were in search of a company to pour a concrete patio as we were removing our old floating deck. We came across Clark Companies at the White Bear Home Show @ The Hippodrome. They followed up promptly afterwards and set a time to come out for a quote. They answered all our questions and helped us envision what it could look like. They were the only company we had out that actually cared (the others you probably hear advertised all the time). If you're here because you are researching them you can see they do this all the time and they do it well. They gave us many options to choose from for the patio & other items to complete the project (I.e stairs or grass seed). During the installation they were very professional and consulted with us along the way to make sure we were happy before all was said and done. Thank you Clark Companies! "If you are looking for paver patios, the installers are great. They did a very nice job, and were professional throughout. They would clean up every day before leaving, addressed any questions we had timely and we are very satisfied with the results. We also added a gazebo to our patio design. It was very clear that gazebo's are not one of their strengths. We encountered many issues with the design and build of the gazebo long before construction began. We had hired Josh in October to complete all elements of the landscaping project the following spring. Over the winter months, we had asked on many occasions for catalog photos, or anything that would confirm what the finished gazebo was going to look like. The pictures were never sent and the only indication of what it might look like came just a few days before the project began and was a very small (1x1) black and white picture. Our expectation of the gazebo was that the material used would be cedar. We had asked for glass windows that could be closed during the cooler and winter months. We were assured on many occasions that cedar material and glass windows were what we were going to get. As they were starting to build the gazebo, the material was not cedar, rather it was pressed wood. As the windows were installed, they were not glass (despite being told that very day they were glass), instead they were a plastic film over the screens. We were left in a very difficult position where we were essentially forced to concede on both elements. While the gazebo is functional, and will suit our needs, had Josh sent just ONE picture sometime in the 5 months or so prior the project start, we may have been able to make a different decision. Related, and something else to be aware of. When trying to reach Josh about start dates, etc I would say he was not always as responsive as I would have expected. Furthermore, there were multiple instances where what was promised was not delivered. Again, if you are looking at a paver or patio project - these guys are great and I would recommend their workmanship. However beware of anything more than that."

"Bob and his crew are Patio Whisperers!! Bob came out a year ago in the fall and over the winter created magical plans for a patio, deck and landscaping to replace a very old wooden deck!! Skip laid all the pavers and created two sitting walls. Then when the fence was up the landscaping and deck were done. (The deck was built by Mike and Ray of Mike Wood Construction). Our backyard was turned into a beautiful oasis!! Couldn’t be happier!!! Shades of Green Landscaping has done a lot of work for us but nothing so magical as this project!! Oh!! Did I say fast?? They are amazing!! Highly, highly recommend Shades of Green Landscaping and the whole crew!!!!"

"We had a different landscaping company come out and install "flagstone" over our existing limestone path. Not only did they do a horrible job, they also destroyed our drain tile which I had flagged for them and left large ruts in our yard. It took them 6 weeks to come back and "fix" the path and "repair" the drain tile. The path looked even worse than it did before the "fix", I had to run the skid steer because the two guys they sent out did not know how to operate one, and they had to use drain tile I had on site because they didn't bring any. To top it off, when they replaced the drain tile, they didn't use a union on one end, and just set the pipe up next to the old pipe, and for some reason they took the sock off as if they did not understand what it was for! It was a complete nightmare. Enter Lester and his crew. They came out, and even though the stones were not the right material for a flagstone path, they were able to take them all out and reuse them to create a beautiful path. Choosing the right company is so important for any project, and I can confidently say that "In The Rough Stonework & Landscaping" is the right place to hire for any of your stone work or landscaping needs! We will be using them again in the future!"

"These guys did a fantastic job and exceeded our expectations. The project began on schedule (I've had contractors tell me that "We'll be there in 3-4. weeks"....three months later I'm making phone calls asking "Where are you?") and was completed in five working days. Their knowledge and experience stood out to us immediately and it shows in the final, quality product. We love the two paver patios they created for us. "It went great‼️ The steps were torn completely out … replaced with pressure-treated lumber. They were reinforced with two extra supports, 2x6 boards were used for handrails to improve functionality. All in all, we have sturdy and great looking back steps! ??"
